## **Introduction**
The trustees present their annual report and accounts for the year ended **31st July 2024.**
The board of trustees are satisfied with the performance of the charity during the year and the position at **31st July 2024** and consider that the charity is in a strong position to continue its activities during the coming year, and that the charity's assets are adequate to fulfil its obligations.

## **Objectives and Activities of the Charity**

The object[s] of the CIO is:
The advancement of the Islamic religion including religious education for the benefit of the public.
To advance education for the public benefit of young people in Bangladesh and the sub-continent.
To promote and protect good health for the public benefit of people in Bangladesh and the subcontinent.
The prevention or relief of poverty for the public benefit in the Bangladesh region as the trustees shall determine.

Religious, Educational, Humanitarian activities are carried out by Helping Humanity such as Iftar projects, Orphan projects and Rickshaw projects for the public benefit of Bangladesh and the subcontinent.

## **Achievements and Performance of the Charity** _**A review of charitable activities undertaken by the charity**_
Helping Humanity has already introduced Adult Education Courses to empower individuals through academic and professional development. These courses focus on areas such as basic literacy, vocational training, and English language proficiency, helping adults improve their employability, enhance their quality of life, and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
## _**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**_
In the financial year 2023-2024, Helping Humanity implemented several impactful initiatives to uplift underprivileged communities in Bangladesh. Our projects aimed to address immediate needs while fostering long-term sustainability. The key projects and ongoing services include:
- 1x Housing roof repair project.
- 22 x Water pump for communities and individual families – providing clean water access.
- 1 x Sewing Machine for women - to promote self sustainability.
- 3 x Wheelchair for people with restricted mobility.
- 50x orphans support
- 1x Bridge for local village.
- 6x Iftar event serving over 2,500 people.
- 1 x adult English Course
- 1 x Roadside kiosk
- 270 winter blanket distribution
- 15 people given zakat cash distribution.
In addition to our direct charitable initiatives, Helping Humanity supported UK Muslim donors in fulfilling their religious obligations, ensuring that their acts of charity were impactful and reached those who needed it most:
- 150x Zakatul-Fitr package - small food packages (annual prescribed food distribution)
- 4 x Cow, 3x Sheep for Qurbani - Meat distribution (annual prescribed meat distribution) Iftar, Fidyah and street distribution events - Feeding over 2,500 people
As we move into the 2024-2025 financial year, Helping Humanity is planning to expand on these successful initiatives, reaching even more individuals and communities in need. We remain

dedicated to providing assistance, promoting self-sufficiency, and creating a lasting positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
## _**Fundraising activities**_
Helping Humanity’s main source of charity fundraising activities remain via social media networking with friends, families and colleagues.

Helping Humanity's primary source of fundraising comes from social media campaigns, as well as networking with friends, family, and colleagues. These efforts help raise awareness and funds to support our charitable projects, allowing us to continue making a positive impact in the
## _**Background Information of some of the Projects carried out**_
## **Sewing Machine for women - To promote self sustainability**
The self sustainable Sewing Machine projects provides opportunities for women to acquire basic necessities for their family, the primary objective of this programme is to assist women who are the main breadwinner for their family, although the ideal beneficiary would be a widow or when in situation such as their spouse unable to work due to disabilities, Helping Humanity also recognises the need to empower women. In recognition to this the charity supports younger beneficiaries.
## **Water Pump Project**
Helping Humanity recognises the need for clean water accessibility, in Bangladesh many people suffer from illnesses due to water borne diseases causing health disorders, such as renal failure and high blood pressure. From our research when conducting local inspection for potential beneficiaries, we’ve learnt some families resort to local lakes and ponds for water, we also learnt some families and communities have to walk distance for clean water. Our support in this area of work promotes healthy living and basic survival requirement.

## **House Project**
The primary objectives of this project is to offer vulnerable families, whose life may be endangered due to flooding and harsh weather condition. We realise this may be the first step away from the cycle of poverty. In order to create a safe and secure atmosphere, our house projects are mainly built with a strong foundation and bricked wall with tin roof. This provides a long sustainable home for families who may never get another opportunity for support.
## **Orphans Support**
Without parents they may not have the advantages and privileges like other children. Orphans are the most vulnerable in society, especially in emerging countries such as Bangladesh. In partnership with local Bangladeshi authorities.
## **Zakatul- Fitr**
Helping Humanity has been providing a service to their donors in fulfilling their annual food distribution before the Eid ceremony as documented in the Islamic religion. We understand the importance of this charitable act as a service provider, therefore we have carefully followed the guidance from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and have distributed food as prescribed by the Prophetic tradition.
## **Qurbani Projects**
Qurbani is another charitable act prescribed by the Islamic religion, we as a service provider for our donors, we have undertaken this responsibility in carefully executing this project. This involves purchasing of cattle’s who are free from illnesses and defects, providing sacrificial facilities by ensuring animals are treated with respect and slaughtered humanly, distributing the meat amongst the most deprived in society on Eid day.
## **Iftar and Fidyah Events**
Every Ramadan we provide food for people to break their fast. The Iftar event is a unique programme, which not only provides food but rather promotes a vibrant festive atmosphere for the under privileged to get together and enjoy breaking their fast together as a community. We’ve learnt the people value these event dearly as men, women and children are engaged in the activities. We have served thousands of people with foods in rural areas in Bangladesh.
## **Roadside Kiosks**
Roadside Kiosks is a new initiative as part of our self-sustainable project which provides opportunity for an individual to become self-employed and acquire a sustainable income to. The roadside kiosk initiative also provides an opportunity to those with restricted mobility

## _**Nature of the Governing Document and constitution of the charity**_
The Charity is incorporated and governed by its own Foundation constitiution The trustees have overall control and responsibility for policy and major decision making.
## _**The methods adopted for the recruitment and appointment of new trustees**_
Other than the Trustees and those persons connected with them there are no individuals who are related parties.
Details of transactions with related parties are shown in the notes to the accounts. This includes remuneration and expenses paid to Trustees.
The Trustees are appointed at the Charity’s Annual General Meeting. Any casual vacancy arising during the year is filled by co-option of a person onto the board; that person is then duly elected at the subsequent Annual General Meeting.
No third party has a right to appoint a Trustee.

The trustees have resolved to establish reserves to provide for future activities, and to provide funding for the expected expenditure for six months ahead in the sum of £5,000.

## **Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities**
The Charities Act and the Companies Act require the Board of Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity as at the end of the financial year and of the surplus or deficit of the charity. In preparing those financial statements the Board is required to :-
- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; and
- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.
- state whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed , subject to any material
- departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;
The Trustees are also responsible for maintaining adequate accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and which are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006 and comply with regulations made under the Charities Act. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The trustees are also responsible for the contents of the trustees' report, and the responsibility of the independent examiner in relation to the trustees' report is limited to examining the report and ensuring that , on the face of the report, there are no inconsistencies with the figures disclosed in the financial statements.

## **Report of the Independent Accountant to the trustees**
**on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 July 2024**
We report on the financial statements of the charity on pages 7-11 for the year ended 31 July 2024 which have been prepared in accordance in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (the FRSSE) , effective April 2008, as modified by the Statement of Recommended Practice for Accounting and Reporting issued by the Charity Commissioners for England & Wales, effective April 2005 revised in June 2008, (The SORP), under the historical cost convention and the accounting policies..
## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and accountant**
As described on page 5, the charity's trustees, who are also the directors of the company for the purposes of company law, are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees consider that the audit requirement of Section 144(1) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act) does not apply, and that there is no requirement in the memorandum and articles of the charity for the conducting of an audit, and that the charity is exempt from an audit under Section 477 of the Companies Act 2006.The trustees also consider the charity to be exempt from the requirement to be subject to Independent Examination.
Our responsibility is to prepare accounts upon the basis of the information supplied to us

We have not carried out any audit procedures and have relied upon information supplied to us by the trustees , and the information supplied by the trustees in the course of the examination is not subjected to audit tests or enquiries, and consequently we do not express an audit or other assurance opinion on the view given by the accounts.
