During the year the donations received totalled £6250 and seven payments totalling £3500 were made to UK registered charities. The charity income and assets are likely to remain at a low level in the near future and the intention is to continue making small grants to diverse UK based charities on an annual basis. The trustees do not intend to incur any costs payable by the charity for the foreseeable future so that all income is available for charitable distribution. O’Brien-Trustee** 4 ## **THE O’BRIEN FAMILY FOUNDATION** ## **Notes to the Financial Statements for the year ended 31[st] March 2025** ## **ACCOUNTING POLICIES** ## **Basis of preparing the financial statements** The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (FRS 102) and Charities Act 2011. ## **Income** All income is recognised in the statement of Financial Affairs once the charity has legal entitlement to the funds and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. ## **Resources expended** Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and classified under headings that aggregate all costs related to the category. ## **Taxation** The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities. ## **Fund Accounting** Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity.
