Summary of the main achievements of the
charity during the year
Supports the work of the Kyaninga Child Development Centre (KCDC) in Western Uganda,
with head offices located in Fort Portal and satellite offices in Kasese district, through
fundraising activities, volunteer support, awareness raising and governance. KCDC
provides Community-Based Rehabilitation, Special Educational support and Assistive
Technology to children with disabilities, awareness and education on disability to
communities, and economic empowerment to participating families to increase the quality
of life and enable children with disabilities to thrive.
To date, with the ongoing support of the Kyaninga CDC Trust, more than 5,800 children
with a wide range of physical, intellectual and communication disabilities have been
supported with therapy, rehabilitation and education services. KCDC has also provided
entrepreneurial business skills training to 981 caregivers to increase their financial security
and open small businesses. In 2021, KCDC began the design and development of assistive
technology using locally available resources, including bamboo and bicycle parts as part of
their Kyaninga Mobility programme. The Kyaninga Inclusive Education Hub has trained 685
teachers and educators in Inclusive Education practices and improved the educational
outcomes of more than 9,500 children in rural Ugandan schools

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity
(“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 [st] December 2022.
Responsibilities and basis of
report As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under
section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the
applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of
the Act.
Independent examiner's
statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to
my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe
that in, any material respect:
• accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
• the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the
examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.
