KCDC provides Community-Based Rehabilitation and Special Educational support to children with disabilities, awareness and education on disability to communities, and economic empowerment to participating families to increase the quality of life and enable children with disabilities to thrive. To date, with the ongoing support of the Kyaninga CDC Trust, more than 4,600 children with a wide range of physical, intellectual and communication disabilities have been supported with therapy, rehabilitation and education services. KCDC has also provided entrepreneurial business skills training to 620 caregivers to increase their financial security and open small businesses. In 2021, KCDC began the design and development of assistive technology using locally available resources, including bamboo and bicycle parts as part of their Kyaninga Mobility programme. |
