TO ASSIST IN THE TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION OF CHILDREN LIVING WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES, ILLNESS OR INJURY IN THE KABAROLE REGION OF UGANDA BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF THERAPY SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT THROUGH FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND GRANT ALLOCATIONS TO THE KYANINGA CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE AND OTHER RELEVANT ORGANISATIONS WORKING IN THE REGION AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE BY THE TRUSTEES. | Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year |
Supports the work of Kyaninga Child Development Centre (KCDC), in Fort Portal, Uganda through fundraising activities, volunteer support, awareness raising and charity oversight. KCDC provides Community-Based Rehabilitation and Special Educational support to children living with disabilites; awareness and education on disability to communities; and economic empowerment to participating families to increase quality of life and enable children with disabilties to thrive. To date, with the ongoing support of Kyaninga CDC Trust, more than 3,200 children with a wide range of physical, intellectual and communication disabilties have been supported with therapy, rehabilitation and education services. In 2020, 482 families hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic were supported with food and hygiene supplies, while 195 caregivers completed the entrepreneurial business skills training and started their own small businesses, increasing their financial security. |

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity
(“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 [st] December 2020.
Responsibilities and basis of
report As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under
section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the
applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of
the Act.
Independent examiner's
statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to
my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe
that in, any material respect:
• accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
• the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the
examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.
