## **Minutes of the AGM held on 20[th] May 2021**

## **1. Apologies for absence** . None
**2. Minutes** of the last meeting held 30[th] April 2020 Minutes were previously circulated to all members by email. There were no matters arising. These were accepted as a true record of proceedings.
**3. Chairman’s Report** for the year to February 2021
The Chairman noted the restrictions which lockdown had placed on activity, in spite of which some playing had been managed – on the lawn at East Peckham and over zoom – which went some way to maintain the band’s spirits.
**4. Treasurer’s Report** . Notes to Accounts 2020/21
The accounts showed a small deficit of £600 and were adopted with all in favour.
## **5. Election of the Committee:**
The following members were re-elected for the coming year. Alec Pelmore, Keith Reynolds, Jill Cox, Denzil Peach, Chris Yelf, Gay Jenner, Tracy Vine, David Wynn, Adam Jones. Musical Director Wally Hammonds.

## **East Peckham Silver Band – Chairman’s Report for the year to February 2022**
With restrictions starting to ease in the summer, we resumed practices in May with windows wide open etc and managed one bandstand (Hastings) and one very well attended concert in East Peckham. This was followed by most of our usual carol engagements and a very good concert in Hadlow. So life started to return to normal and the spirit of the band has been maintained.
The financial report below has more detail of the accounts – the key point being that our few concerts managed to generate sufficient income that we covered our costs so our financial position remains healthy.
While covid cases are again high, I am hoping that we return further to normality – we have just three summer engagements this year but we hope to assemble a full programme next year.
I would like to pay tribute to Keith Reynolds who is stepping down from the band. Keith has been a stalwart for the band forever (!) and as my predecessor as chairman for over 10 years; but we have all benefitted from the fact that he did all the major jobs (librarian, engagements, uniform, concert manager, secretary) putting the rest of us lazy souls to shame! Irreplaceable ….
I would also like to thank Gay who is stepping off the committee (Gay was instrumental in the revival of the band twenty five odd years ago); and to Philip Charlton and Annie Reid who are both retiring having been back row stalwarts for many years. Thank you all.

The income and outgoings still reflect the pandemic lockdown with limited income from engagements; but with subs income sufficient to cover our main outgoings of hall hire. Jill Cox
