REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES AND GENERAL INFORMATION
Prlnclpal Actfvity
The Dwelling Place provides supported housing for formerty homeless men.

The Chorily is estoblished as o Charilable Incorporated Organisalion ICIOI and it5
activities are regulated by ils constitulion. The objects of Ihe CIO are, for the public
benefit, to provide supported housing accommodolion wlh enhanced housing
management services, in order lo:
Promole social inclusion by preventing in particular Ibul nol exclusivelyl the
formerly homeles5 or vulnerably hovsed inclvding, ex-offenders, Ihose aflecled by
illegal substance and alcohol oddictions and people effected by poor mental
health. from being socially excluded.
Relieve the needs of the forMe￿V homeless ond vvlnerably housed who, os o result
of homelessness. are suffering the effects of unemploymenl, financial hardship, ill
heallh and disabilily, assisting them lo integrate inlo society, living with dignily and
purpose. through engaging wilh o core ond support plan aimed al suslainoble
independenl living and enhancing employability.

The above named have served during the year. Th8 Trustees are kept informed of the
oclivities and performance of the choriloble organisolion and provided wilh regular
management information. The composition of the boord is kept under review and
addilional appointmenls will be made should the need arise. All trustees are made aware
of their responsibilities.

Management Team
This year our project lead who has served us diligently, and often beyond the call of duty
decided it was time to move on. The Trustees ore extremely grolefvl for her hard work
and commitment over a number of years including during Ihe pandemic, which made
the job extremely difficull.
Afler o p￿10d of Iransition, we now have a new and experienced project lead who we
ore confidenl will toke the project f<xward.
Resldents
We have hod approximolely 80% occuponcy throughout this financial year, wilh some
new residents joining us and some moving on.
This year we decided that it was time Ihat Ihe house was redecorated, so all the
communal areas were pointed lo a really good standard. This is on investment that we
Irusl will lost for some time.
Flnanclal Revlew
During the year the charity has received donations and other income omounting lo
£45,488 and has incurred expenditure of £48.167.
Reserves
The Trustees seek lo hold odeqvate reserves to meel three months operoling costs
equivalent lo obout £20.(yX).

Rlsk Monagement
The Trusteès have reviewed the mojor risks to which the charily is exposed and hove taken
5tep5 to mitigate the potential impacl of Ihese.

The Trustees have considered the guidance provided by the Charity Commission

for the year ended 31 March 2025 which comprise the Slalemenl of Financial Activities,
Ihe Balance Sheet and related noles.
This report is made solely to the chorily's trustees, as a body. in accordance wilh 5eclion
145 of the Charitie5 Act 2011. My work h05 been undertaken so that I might state to the
charity's trustees those motleTS l om required lo stole to them in this report and for no other
purpose. To the fullest extenl permitted by law. I do not accepl or assume responsibility
lo anyone other than the charity ond the charity's Iruslees as o body. for my work, for this
report. or for the opinions I have formed.
Responslbllltles and bash ol report
As the tTUStees of the charilable company you are responsible for the preparation of the
financial slalements in accordance wth the requirements of the Companies Act 2￿6
I'lhe 2006 Act'i.
Having salisfied myself Ihal the financial slalements of the charilable compony are not
required lo be audiled under Part 16 of Ihe Act and are eligible for independenl
examination. I report in respect of my exominalion of the chariloble compony's financial
slotemenls carried out under seclion 145 of the Charities Act 2011 I'lhe 2011 Acl'l and in
carrying out my examination I have followed all Ihe opplicable Directions given by Ihe
Charity Commission under section 145151 Ibl of the 2011 Act.
An independènt exominolion does not involve galhering all the evidence that would be
required in an audit and consequently does not cover all the matlers that an audilor
considers in giving their opiniorn on the finonciol statements. The planning and conducl of
an audit goes beyond the limited ossurance thot an independenl examination can
provide. Consequently. l express no opinion as to whether the financial slalements present
'Irue and fair, view and my report is limited lo those specific motlers sel out in the
independent examiner's sto*emenl.
