The Association shall be non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion. The association shall have power to affiliate to other organisations with similar charitable objects. **BMCA TAR** Jan **2023** 2 ## **Section C Objectives and Activities** **2022 - 2023 report** : Bitterne Manor Community Association Charitable Incorporated Organisation (BMCA CIO) The Organisation was still recovering from covid restrictions for Q2-Q4 in 2022 and we only had 1 hire bookings which did not progress due to the cleaning required between bookings, and the lack of a cleaner. Enquiries were low anyway, so we were able to defer the ones who did enquire until 2023. The one primary long-term hirer was still in place and was stable in their business, so funding was not an issue. We are still looking for regular bookings during evenings or weekends but nothing in the pipeline. Our social media is going to have a makeover in 2024 to see if that will bring further enquiries. Bitterne Manor Community Centre (BMCC) Works have completed in the hall and infrastructure with the repairs of walls and washing facilities. The web site has been highlighted as an area for future development. We were able to open for local elections. ## Section D Achievements and performance **Summary of the main** The main achievement during 2022-2023 is to ensure the hall and offices **achievements of the charity** are in a fit state of operation to allow the key organisation to operate and **during the year** support the local community. In 2023-2024 we are looking at installing a proper hot water system to feed all kitchens and toilets on both floors, which has funding, but lockdown and covid restrictions had not allowed work to progress. ## **Section E Financial review** **BMCA TAR** Jan **2023** 3 ## **Brief statement of the** **charity’s policy on reserves** BMCA CIO has a reserve account, which is to be used to hold such funds as required to facilitate major repairs and minor works projects. BMCA CIO has lifted the sets the cap on total funding reserves to be from £5k to £20k at any one time. **Details of any funds materially in deficit** None ## **Further financial review details (Optional information)** You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about: - the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising); - how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity; BMCA CIO principal source of funding is from hire of the facilities and grounds under its control, Parent Support Link is the current long term hirer. The hall hire from the community has been very weak with overall funding coming from only polling station rent in 2022-2023.
