## MILNTHORPE STEEL BAND – CHAIRMANS REPORT – JANUARY 2022 

Welcome to the AGM. It’s better news than last year on all fronts. It is nice to be able to meet up and practice together indoors now the weather has changed (without distancing) 

Thanks to Beetham Holiday Homes for the kind use of their car park for practices – I know the residents enjoyed listening to us, also thanks for the help towards our new jackets which are performing well in the Lake District weather. 

Things are looking up for us on the gig side and although there have been no carnivals we are out there and getting seen. 

Luckily we have been able to pay all our insurances and will be able to afford pan tuning soon. 

Membership has also increased and we now have a full complement in all sections with only the trebles left for any new members. 

It is great to welcome Steven B, and with his expertise we look forward to adding some new and more up to date tunes to our repertoire. 

We are all looking forward to our 25[th] year celebrations – plans are underway. 

Here’s to another year of friendship, fun, good music and exciting gigs to take us into our next 25 years (hopefully) and a few more pounds in the coffers to enable us to continue into the future.
