## **CHARITY INFORMATION**
The Trustees have pleasure in submitting the Report and Accounts for the year.
The following Trustees served throughout the year: Rose Foulds Kevin Westfield Karen Gratton Jessica Anne Hymus-Gant Rev Mark Savage
The appointment of Trustees is governed by the Trust Deed of the charity. The Board of Trustees is authorized to appoint new Trustees to fill vacancies arising through resignation or death.
## **Investment Powers**
The Trust Deed authorizes the Trustees to make and hold investments using the general funds of the charity.
In planning the activities the Trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission in December 2008 on 'Public Benefit'.
## **Constitution, Objects and Policies**
The Charitable Trust is constituted by the Trust Deed dated 23 November 2015 named Mission Europe. Its objects are to advance the Christian faith in (but not limited to) Europe. The policy of the Charitable Trust is to positively impact nations facing economic and social distress. The charity provides Leadership Development, Short Term Missions teams (7-14 days) and a variety of Community Development initiatives based on country and need.
## **Developments, Activities and Achievements**
The year ended 31 December 2023 saw the achievement of objectives and vision in some areas of the ministry as detailed below:
In 2023 Mission Europe sent a mission team in October to Moldova, to continue to impact the local community by providing aid via Storehouse project aiming to deliver clothes, food and medical supplies to those in the local villages in Nisporeni and Cioresti in most need .The teams aim to continue to share the love of God by faith in action. In 2023 we partnered with Vision Mission to provide spectacles for the local villagers by providing eye tests and giving out to each individual, helping provide a health need of spectacles that the local people had not had before. During the visit another aid lorry was sent helping to support and fill the storehouses, and expanding help, support and influence in the local churches.
## **Looking Forward 2024**
Mission Europe has sent out a Mission team in April 2024, to continue to support the local churches and surrounding areas. The aim to advance the community aspect and impact of the storehouses in the local areas through distribution of aid and the gospel in local schools, nurseries, and visiting of local families. The team also gave out seeds so the villagers could provide food aid and support the local people grow produce for themselves, helping long term sustainability. We also aim to support local youth camps during the summer of 2024 with financial support to help young people in the local villagers to have an opportunity to have an experience of God and broaden their horizons with hope for the future. There will be another mission trip in October 2024 to monitor progression of the storehouses and do another outreach in the villages with medical support and spectacles for the locals.
**Other:** We will continue to address issues in society where the Christian message can offer a positive influence and solutions. Our aim is to have the Storehouse Project sustainable in Moldova with the possibility of sending more Aid in to further locations and to continue to research what is most needed in the country.
Mission Europe is working well with the change in Leadership with Rose Foulds becoming the Director of Mission Europe. Rose has developed a great team of people to help and support with the Storehouse Project in Moldova and is expanding the Trustees team.
## **Financial Review**
Total receipts for the year were £3,333 comparable to £4,469 in 2022.
Total payments for the year were £4,650 decreased from £4,813 in 2022. Efforts were focused on fundraising for the sending of aide and creation of additional Storehouses. Year ended for 2023 resulted in a funds decrease of £1,317, compared to 2022 funds decrease of £344.
At year end net current assets totalled: £6,218, a decrease from £7,535 in 2022.
## **Risk Management**
The Trustees actively review the major risks which the charity faces. Based on the funds that are maintained, the regular review of the controls over financial matters/systems, there are suficient resources in the event of adverse conditions. The Trustees have also examined other operational and business risks faced by the Charity and confirm that they have established systems to mitigate the significant risks.
The Trustees regularily assess the risk of working in war torn countries recognising our duty of care to our Volunteers and Field workers.
**Reserves policy:** It is the policy of the charity to maintain funds throughout the year at a level that is sufficient to cover management, administration and support costs for a period of three months.
## **Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities:**
Charity law requires us as Trustees to prepare financial statements for each accounting year which give a true and fair view of the state of the charity and of its income and expenditure for the year. We are required to:
1. Select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently;
2. Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
3. State whether the applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the accounts;
4. Prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the charity and which enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. We also have a responsibility to safeguard the assets of the charity and to take reasonable steps to prevent fraud or any other irregularities.

## TRUSTEES' RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the Charities Act 2011, the trustees are required to prepare a statement of account for each accounting year.
They are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to ensure that such accounts and records comply with the Charities Act 2011.
They also have a responsibility to safeguard the assets of the charity and to take reasonable steps to detect fraud or other irregularities and to provide reasonable assurances that:
1. The charity is operating efficiently and effectively
2. Its assets are safeguarded against unauthorised use or disposition
3. Financial information used within the charity or for publication is reliable
4. The charity complies with relevant laws and regulations
