Adroddiad Flynyddol yr Ymddiriedolwyr/ Annual Report of Trustees 2022 b

The Tabernacl Chapel Morriston Trust was registered in November 2015. The Trust was established to secure the future of the chapel building. The building is a Grade 1 Listed Building with CADW The Trust is currently supported by the Tabernacl Morriston Congregation Trust. A new Trust has been registered with the Charity Commission- Tabernacl Morriston Community Heritage Trust ( 1197032). This Trust will take over the responsibilities of the Tabernacl Chapel Morriston Trust, of once all legal formalities are completed.

The new architect, Amanda Needham , has completed preparatory work in axxordance with RIBA requirements and all necessary planning conditions have been met so that major adaptations to the vestry can commence in January 2023. The contractors appointed for Phase 1 are Taliesin Conservation, Blackwood.

Work on the boiler ventilation system has been completed by the contractor, Rung, and commissioned.

Grants have been received from the Welsh Government, The Architectural Heritage Fund and the City and County of Swansea. Further applications await approval. The work of Ms Jacqui Box in preparing claims has been most valuable and greatly appreciated. The support of the City and County of Swansea, grant awarding agencies, including CADW and the Welsh Government, are critical . Such support is imperative if this “ Cathedral of Welsh Nonconformity” is to continue to serve our community and the Nation .

The vestry will be out of use from the end of 2022 until completion of the adaptations. There will be a loss of income because of this. However, when the work is completed we trust that previous users

will return and benefit from the improved facilities. We also hope that new users from the community will be eager to use the high quality facilities.

This year we celebrate the 150th annivewrsary of the opening of Tabernacl. The magnificent organ is 100 years old and has been carefully maintained with original features. The steps now being taken are plaaned so that Tabernacl Chapel and Vestry will continue to serve the community of Morriston and the Welsh nation well into the future.

I have completed my Examination.

I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material aspect

  1. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by Section 130 of the Act: or

  2. The accounts do not accord with those records: or

  3. The accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of the accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the account give a true and fair view which is not a matter con sidered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
