Annual Report of The Trustees of Immanuel Christian Fellowship Year Ending 31[st] March 2024 Charity Registration Number 1164508 9 Sycamore Square, Shildon, County Durham, DL4 2EN
Immanuel Christian Fellowship (ICF) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with a membership wider than the Trustees. Immanuel Christian Fellowship is an independent Christian Church.
The Trustees of the Charity are:
Richard Smith (Chair), Hannah Segalofsky Smalley, Beverley Jayne Galpin, Margaret Barlow and Paul Stephens. Trustees are recruited from within the membership of the CIO, nominated and voted for at the AGM by simple majority.
With Covid19 a past hurdle, the work of the charity is now ready to continue we have reintroduced all services and ministries. During the year ICF has conducted a wide range of activities these include; weekly Christian religious meetings, Christian worship, Bible study and discipleship sessions. Rainbow Tot’s parent and toddler group has continued and has seen steady growth over the period of 2023/2024. We have continued to establish the group by providing budget friendly sessions, encouraging parents to engage in fundraising and supporting local families with days out during the Summer.
Our free meal days aimed at the homeless, unemployed and elderly have continued on Friday afternoons with extra funding from North Point. These sessions have seen a steady increase in attendance. In October 2024 ICF launched a children’s ministry (Fire Brands) for children aged 5 -12, providing weekly activities that include Christian based plays, arts and crafts and age-related Bible study.
Immanuel Christian Fellowship continues to grow in membership and regularly draws in visitors from local towns and beyond. Immanuel Christian Fellowship has increased its number of volunteers in 2024 and has been able to provide free courses to new volunteers. ICF currently has a regular rota of 10 dedicated volunteers. The past year also provided an opportunity to offer positions of responsibility to volunteers by inviting members onto the Board of Trustees, this has allowed other trustees to stand down and focus on other areas of ministry.
The Charity has seen an increase in donations, tithes and offerings and has successfully secured funding from the National Lottery for Rainbow Tots and has also secured funding from The Rothley Trust to further build and publish our website. Immanuel Christian Fellowship will continue to fund raise and make grant applications throughout 2025 for essential running costs and building development.
Immanuel Christian Fellowship has operated at The Bethel Tabernacle since March 2023 and plans to continue for many years. Members are working hard to secure funding for renovations needed to bring the building up to date along with funding to future proof the building and its legacy.
We estimate that more than 320 local people including Shildon residents and people from surrounding areas, have received charitable support in the period 2023 to 2024, helping us attain our charitable aims and objectives. Trustees consider this to be a significant level of public benefit and expect to see this increase year on year.
Trustees continue to review the financial operation and procedures of the Charity and report findings during regular meetings this will continue throughout 2025.
The Charity has a Reserves Policy which aims to hold three months’ worth of revenue/ running costs, to help ensure the Charity can meet its financial obligations. The Charity has a Policy of Depreciating Fixed Assets on the following basis:
1. Computer, IT and Presentation Equipment - straight line to zero over three years.
2. General Furniture and Office Equipment - straight line to zero over five years.
3. Play/Activity Related Equipment - straight line to zero over three years.
