## CEO's Summary Report – October 2022 


## **The following is a brief overview of the activity of LVE Charitable Foundation over the past year. The full report is published separately.** 

## Surviving the Covid Lockdown 

By working hard and smart throughout the pandemic from our office we secured almost £280,000 in funding to ensure our survival and now that normal service has resumed it is evident that not only are we continuing to win new funding bids but also that our revenue stream from hires of Leyton Great Hall is providing the surpluses to fund core costs, in-kind donations and additional scope for funding projects. 

## The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain 

On the 27th April 2022, our CEO attended a fundraising event for Ukraine. 

The was organized by The Outward-Bound Trust and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain. 

The LVE Charitable Foundation is very proud to have made a significant donation to the fund. We are also following up with The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain. 

## Engine Room

## PinPoint 

We continue to work closely with this PinPoint, as it’s the first organisation we helped at our inception. 

## Queens Platinum Jubilee 

We made a very small donation to a church to run an inter-generational afternoon tea and a children’s tea party. There were cakes, sandwiches and all things lovely galore. There was entertainment from local singers and a steel pan duo. All who attended had a fabulous time and were very pleased with the event.

## COG expands to Newham 

The Foundation is very proud to be sponsoring a new initiative in the London Borough of Newham. COG (Community Outdoor Group) is a cycling group that teaches children and young adults. Their beneficiaries’ age range is from 3 to 18 years old and COG teach toddlers on balance bikes, then teach cycling to young children and then bike mechanics to older children. 

## New partnership with the Metropolitan Police 

We were recently commissioned by the London Mayor’s Office in Partnership with the Met Police to deliver a recruitment project devised by the CEO in conjunction with senior officers from the Met ( **Project Recruit** ) across two London boroughs aimed at recruiting black, Asian and female officers into the Met. 

The Foundation has already had meetings with the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis (Sir Mark Rowley) and will have further meetings with senior officers and the Mayor of London. 

The initial project funding is £34,000. 

## Neuro-divergent learning 

The CEO is currently working on a new project to look at neuro-divergent learning which is something I’m passionate about. Our aim is to create a unique project where we have a small number of children and in the evenings adults to work with and train them to bring out their best potential. 

## An update from Luke Willmoth 

As you will already know, we are assisting our former intern, Luke Willmoth in the initial stages of his professional airline pilot’s training. There is a detailed update that Luke has kindly submitted to us, which is available in the full report. 

## L.E.A.D.E.R.S. Academy 

Over recent months, we have increased the funding to L.E.A.D.E.R.S., to cover core costs (i.e., sessional workers, hall hire, printing, etc.). We are awaiting a report from them, which will follow.
