## F **RIENDS OF KINMEL BAY COMMUNITY LIBRARY AGM THURSDAY 28th MAY 2026 AT 2PM CHAIRPERSONS REPORT** 

The last AGM meeting for The Friends of Kinmel Bay Community Library was May 2025. 

The Committee has been re -elected today and remains the same. 

From May 2025 to December, we had a steady income from various groups however since the start of 2026 we lost two groups. One group has relocated to Towyn because they needed larger premises. The NHS have moved to the church in Towyn and we can only assume that a difference in costs was the reason. We continue to look for new groups to rent the library space. 

The warm hub continues on a Wednesday and Thursday and will do so as long as refreshments last. No income is generated from this although we have seen an increase in footfall. 

We have applied for grant to improve the heating system. The current system is very out of date and not user or environmentally friendly. This will be in excess of 60k however CCBC will have to give us permission and are reluctant to do so. We have managed to secure 20k from the national lottery, but other applications have been put on hold until the Autumn because of election compliance. 

Our lease on the library is until 2040 so we still have a long way to go. We are very thankful for your continued support and interest.
