Isle of Wight Learning zone Treasurer Report for financial year June 1st 2023 to 31May 2024
The isle of wight learning zone has had a: Total income of £8255.40 Total out goings £11122.76
Our bank account total as of the 31 May 2024 is £8249.47 The total held in petty cash funds as of the same date is £ 262.96
Grant funding
During this year the isle of wight learning zone has secured funding from a number of places, including the early help fund from the isle of wight council, the houshold support fund from the department of work and pensions, via the isle of wight council. As well as these we are currently receiving funding for nature sessions, a parliament trip , and the trip to Bee-well. This amount to a total of £8636.35 of grant funding.

We have to date received £4870 of this funding so far . We are due payment from these grants of £3766.35, in the upcoming months .
Membership
We Currently have 96 paid members of the charity , this has brought us membership payments of £1710
Donantions
We have also received donations of £144 this year .
Session Charges
The charity also offers some paid for sessions by attendees , at times these sessions are subsided by that charity . The income we have generated by collecting these amounts is £646.40 .

This year the charity has spent a total of £11,122.76.
This can be broken down into
Session charges £2599.50 Hub costs £2344 Herding cats camp £910.49 Insuranceand misc. £255.10 Food vouchers, and fruit and veg boxes £3374.07 White goods fund £1639.60
The white goods fund is now closed , however we do have a number wonder bags to still distribute .
We have committed to continue to support the nature sessions, to cover the costs of the parliament trip, with the funding to cover the costs to be received in due course. We have also agreed to subsidise they harry potter trip in December.
All current funds in the bank as of the 31st may 2024 are free for us to allocate .
Moving forward
The HUB moving to Victoria recreation ground had been a great change to learning zone supported events . The session has over 30 families attending every week , and from it we have been able to distribute support to the community . However the hub is endanger of being financially unviable, this year we had received a grant from the early help grant fund from the isle of wight council, we have been unsuccessful in gaining that grant for another year as it is specifically for new enterprises. We do need to look at other avenues of income to support the ongoing running of the hub . The hire of the hall is £75 per week , and we need to at least cover this cost . The charity needs to look into more funding options for all of its endeavours, and I hope we will be successful in raising more money to support home educating families on the isle of wight .
