## **Woodhurst RDA Group Annual report for 1/4/2021 - 31/3/2022** ## **Background** The governing document is the Constitution signed 18/4/16. The Group is a Registered Charity no. 1164390 and it was registered 12/11/15. The working name is Woodhurst RDA Group which replaced the previous name Woodhurst Group RDA when the new Constitution was adopted, changing the status to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. The correspondence address for the Group is: Mrs Brenda Eade 1 Chapel Close Hartford, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE29 1AR ## **Charitable Objects** These have remained unchanged and are to promote the objects of the Riding for the Disabled Association, incorporating carriage driving, (Charity no. 244108) by providing disabled people with the opportunity to ride and/or drive to benefit their health and wellbeing in the Woodhurst/Huntingdon area. Currently this is specifically for children from Spring Common Academy, Huntingdon. ## **Committee** The committee organises regular riding sessions for children from Spring Common Academy. They normally raise funds for the work of the Group by carrying out various fund raising activities throughout the year. They hold regular meetings and organise an AGM. The following served as committee members during the year Chairperson: Alison Mackenzie Secretary. : Brenda Eade Treasurer. : David Alsop **Other members:** Caroline Leafe (Trustee), Alex Gosnell (Trustee), Jean Powell (Trustee), Iris Richardson, Sue Grant, Sue Thorogood, Gillian Luff ## **Review** The easing of Covid 19 restrictions enabled the Group to re-start riding sessions in September 2021, unfortunately due to continuing Covid 19 issues we were unable to hold any riding sessions for half a school term at the beginning of 2022. We have been joined by some new volunteers which has given the Group a more varied base of experience to utilise when running the riding sessions. 1 The coaches plan the sessions to incorporate themes from projects the Academy are doing and also ideas to help the children learn more about riding and horse care. We are working towards some proficiency tests with the riders so that we can give them awards to reflect their levels of achievement. Our unavoidable costs have risen this year but we have been able to re-start our fund raising activities and held our first one this year before the riding sessions started which meant we were able to maintain contact with our volunteers. We are very grateful to all our volunteers and committee members for working hard to keep everybody safe but still have fun with the children. We have managed to run a volunteer training session and plan more in the future. We also appreciate the co-operation and support from Spring Common Academy. Signed.
