TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31 JULY 2022

The Trustees present their annual report and financial statements of the charity for the period ended 31 July 2022. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in Note 1 to the accounts and comply with the charity’s trust deed, the Charities Act 2011 and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance the with Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland published on 16 July 2014.

Objectivities and Activities for the Public Benefit

The charitable constitution was adopted 7 June 2015 and charitable status for the Church was granted 12 November 2015.

The objectives of the Church are for the benefit of the public

Review of Achievements

Over the course of the financial year Gallery Church has developed and continued to provide online support for the community and the wider church in the UK whilst stepping back into in person activities as meeting restrictions were lifted.

We have continued embed ourselves into the new location, working with children and families with back to school support, local community days and regular litter picking mornings all for the greater benefit of the locality.

This year the Church has worked with Birmingham social services and Birmingham Conservatoire providing venue support and has hosted a let’s feed Brum campaign too. As well many people being supported, cared for and strengthened through the Gallery Church’s regular activity.

Financial Review

Gallery Church has just about weathered the Covid-19 storm and managed to keep going financially.

Over the financial year the Church lost a significant percentage of givers and this will be a challenge moving into the new year to try and recover them and access other donations.

The trends are deficits, so action and attention will be needed over the next year. Pastor Andy’s reduced hours has helped our financial situation.

Reserves Policy

Gallery Church continues to hold 6 months running costs in reserves in line with the expectations of a registered charity.

Plans for the Future

We will have to see what the future holds for Gallery Church, many new people have joined us and we are currently assessing the best way forward. We are still a positive presence to the city of Birmingham and beyond, providing support both financially and with volunteers to the cultural, spiritual and charitable health of the city.
