## WORLD ANIMAL FRIENDS ANNUAL REPORT YEAR ENDING OCTOBER 2023

It was a difficult year for World Animal Friends. Fewer donations were received than previous years and fundraising events were less productive.

Fortunately, we did receive a legacy of £30,000 which enabled us to continue supporting our beneficiaries almost as much as the last few years.

We continue to send regular donations to our beneficiary shelters to purchase food for their rescued animals. We endeavour to do this as all our rescuer friends abroad report the extreme difficulty in raising donations in the current financial situation and without our help animals could be left without food.

We continue to focus on spay and neuter projects. This includes an ongoing TNR project for street dogs in Egypt and a weekly slot for 2 cat spays at a clinic in Philippines. We have also supported 2 TNR days in Bangladesh and our animal hospital in Pakistan have undertaken a TNR project in addition to sterilising the animals that arrive at the hospital.

Funds are also used for providing veterinary treatment for sick and injured rescued animals.

In October 2022 WAF in collaboration with Huraira Animal Lovers in Karachi opened a hospital which provides free treatment for sick and injured street animals. This project is entirely funded by WAF. This project has grown more rapidly than anticipated. Around 2000 animals were treated in the first year. The hospital started with one vet and now employs 4 vets working shifts to provide cover 24/7.
