has enabled the Weymouth Street Pastor’s
volunteers to help care, help and listen to
individuals in Weymouth town centre on
Friday and Saturday nights.
Throughout this calendar year the
Weymouth Street Pastor Team of 27
volunteers (4 of whom are Trustees)
undertook 98 patrols which equate to 1383
volunteer hours. 630 bottles of water and
15 space blankets were given out to those
in need.
The Trustees can report that the initiative
continues to have a marked impact in the
town centre. The significant reduction in
alcohol related incidents has attributed to
the minimal anti-social behaviour statistic
whilst the teams are on the streets.
Additionally, the team dealt with 70 alcohol,
8 drug and 31 health and mental health
issues during their patrols. Supporting the
community included picking up 432 bottles,
273 glasses and sweeping up106 smashed
glass items thus removing hazards. 267
Pairs of flipflops were handed out to
women seen walking bare foot, thus|
reducing the risk of injury. To support the safety and care of vulnerable people the team also helped 97 unwell clients to get help, engaged with 1 ‘at risk’ young person and gave general advice/pastoral care to 103 individuals and 50 rough sleepers. We also accompanied 2 persons to a place of safety. The Trustees receive regular favourable comments from the police, local community leaders, town manager retailers and ward councillors. The initiative will continue to play its part in the night time economy of Weymouth and holds regular reviews and is in discussion with the local pub watch group and police. It is recognised that Street Pastors’ ministry makes a real difference in reducing anti-social behaviour by being a visible non-threatening presence on the streets of Weymouth. Collaboration between Weymouth Street Pastors and other statutory agencies and licensees continues to result in the town maintaining the purple flag accreditation for management of the night time economy. Safe Space continues to be supported by the Dorset Council. Paramedics and Security staff are based at St Mary’s church. If any member of the public is unwell or needs basic medical assistance they can be dealt without the need to call for an ambulance and we have continued to direct and take those in need to this initiative.

The Trustees present their report and the unaudited financial statements for the financial year ended 31 December 2023.
## **Trustees**
The trustees who served during the financial year are as follows:

In accordance with the Constitution, the trustees retire by rotation and, being eligible, offer themselves for re-election.
## **Political Contributions**
The Organisation did not make any disclosable political donations in the current financial year.
## **Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities**
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
Organisation law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under that law the trustees have elected to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law) including FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" Section 1A (Small Entities). Under Organisation law the trustees must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Organisation and of the surplus or deficit of the Organisation for that period.
In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to:
- select suitable accounting policies and apply them consistently;
- make judgements and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Organisation will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the Organisation's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Organisation and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Organisation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
## **Special provisions relating to small companies**
The above report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions relating to small companies within Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006.

## **to the Board of Trustees on the Compilation of the unaudited financial statements of Weymouth Street Pastors for the financial year ended 31 December 2023**
In accordance with our engagement letter and in order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have compiled for your approval the financial statements of the Organisation for the financial year ended 31 December 2023 as set out on pages 6 to 8 which comprise the Income and Expenditure Account, the Balance Sheet and the related notes from the Organisation's accounting records and from information and explanations you have given to us.
This report is made solely to the Board of Trustees of Weymouth Street Pastors, as a body, in accordance with the terms of our engagement. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile the financial statements that we have been engaged to compile, report to the Organisation’s Board of Trustees that we have done so, and state those matters that we have agreed to state to them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the Organisation and its Board of Trustees, as a body, for our work or for this report.
We have carried out this engagement in accordance with guidance issued by The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and have complied with the relevant ethical guidance laid down by The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales relating to members undertaking the compilation of financial statements.
You have acknowledged on the Balance Sheet for the year ended 31 December 2023 your duty to ensure that Weymouth Street Pastors has kept adequate accounting records and to prepare statutory financial statements that give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities, financial position and surplus of Weymouth Street Pastors. You consider that Weymouth Street Pastors is exempt from the statutory audit requirement for the financial year.
We have not been instructed to carry out an audit or a review of the financial statements of Weymouth Street Pastors. For this reason, we have not verified the adequacy, accuracy or completeness of the accounting records or information and explanations you have given to us and we do not, therefore, express any opinion on the statutory financial statements.

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies' regime and in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A (Small Entities).
For the financial year ended 31 December 2023 the Organisation was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006.
The trustees confirm that the members have not required the Organisation to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the financial year in question in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.
The trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for ensuring that the Organisation keeps accounting records which comply with section 386 and for preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Organisation as at the end of the financial year and of its profit and loss for the financial year in accordance with the requirements of sections 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 relating to financial statements, so far as applicable to the Organisation.

## **1. General Information**
Weymouth Street Pastors are a not-for-profit Organisation incorporated and registered in the United Kingdom. The registered office of the Organisation is 3 Waverley Road, Weymouth, Dorset, DT3 5EB, United Kingdom which is also the principal place of business of the Organisation. The financial statements have been presented in Pound (£) which is also the functional currency of the Organisation.
## **2. Summary of Significant Accounting Policies**
The following accounting policies have been applied consistently in dealing with items which are considered material in relation to the Organisation's financial statements.
## **Statement of compliance**
The financial statements of the Organisation for the financial year ended 31 December 2023 have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A (Small Entities) and the Companies Act 2006.
## **Basis of preparation**
The financial statements have been prepared on the going concern basis and in accordance with the historical cost convention except for certain properties and financial instruments that are measured at revalued amounts or fair values, as explained in the accounting policies below. Historical cost is generally based on the fair value of the consideration given in exchange for assets.
## **Income**
Turnover comprises the invoice value of goods supplied by the Organisation, exclusive of trade discounts and value added tax.
## **Trade and other creditors**
Trade and other creditors are initially recognised at fair value and thereafter stated at amortised cost using the effective interest rate method, unless the effect of discounting would be immaterial, in which case they are stated at cost.
## **Taxation**
The Weymouth Street Pastors are a not-for-profit organisation, and as such their fundraising income and donations received are exempt from Corporation Tax. However, any future investment income and interest received will be inside the scope of Corporation Tax.
