Sunday Attendance 2024
Thls year we have seen attendance fluctuate between 41>45 adults and 25-30 chlldren. We welcome and
support new students from Nigeria, say goodbye to families as they find work post studies and this year,
we have seen 3 families staying in the village with extended post student visas looking for sponsorship so
they can remaln here. We continue to welcome people who have moved to the area and those who feel
drawn to join us for worship.
Vlcars Report 2024
2024 began wlth the ordlnation of Jane Emson, the parlsh enjoyed celebratlng thls whlch also saw the
formal end to her curacy.
The PCC then declded to have an afternoon, which was facilitated by Rev lan Mclntosh the Director and
Trainlng and development for the dlocese. We spent tSme valulng the growth and diverslty withln the
church and then looked at a way forward to manage and serve the church into the future.
Four areas of need for Sunday mornings were identified and agreed upon to enable worship and
fellowship to run more smoothly and share the load.
Flrstly, a team to lead worshlp, choose the music and play, prepare the PowerPolnt and collect notices
etc. Setting up the altar, leadlng and preachin& Intercesslons and readers would all come within this
team's jurlsdictlon.
Secondly a team to run chlldren's and youth work durlng Sunday sepi1￿5, this would Involve preparing
the materlal and recrubtln8 more people to help as asslstants and as leaders.
Thirdly a team to set up the hall. refreshments. Prepare the church chalrs ready for the servlce.
The fourth team would help clear up after the services, both In church and after refreshments in the hall.
Wa5hln8 up and putting the chairs and tables away. Tidylng the chlldren's area In church,
The first two teams for worshlp and children's church were established before the summer break they
have Erown in strength during the year. We still need a touple of people to lead Youth or assist to share
this ministry and give varlety of role models to the young people. Worshlp has grown and developed and
worked well during my absence at the end of the year.
The set up and clear up is less established and stlll needs some work. Thls was delayed by my extended
compassionate leave following my mum's death. Work on these will continue in 2025.

In June we enjoyed and celebrated with Elaine our curate as she
was ordained Priest and presided at Holy Communion for the first
time. It has been a joy to have Elaine at Trinity and the church
family have really appreciated all she has contributed.
My thanks go to Victor who has overseas permission to officiate
and has given so much to the life of Holy Trinity throughoul 2024.
My thanks 80 to Lee-Anne for all her ener8y With the breakfast
church and the many other things she does with her multiply hat
on.
I greatly appreciated Elaine. Victor. Lee-Anne and the PCC taking
the 5traln durln8ihe last 3 months of the year durin8 my absence.
I would also like to say a personal thanks for all the love, kindness,
under5tandln8 and support you all gave me it was amazln& and I
thank you.
Lastly huge thanks go to everyone who contrlbutes to the life of
the church and makes It the place we all want to be as we seek to Ilve Christs story In thls place of Holv

The projert continues to flourish wlth sUPPOrt and over518ht from Its board of Trustees and the day-to-

called us to 5epie.
Safeguardln8 Report
In June 2024 we reviewed our natlonal safeguardlng audit, and we remalned at level three. whlch was the
hl8hest level. which means we have the necessary checks, recrultment and supervlsion for safeguardlng
in place, we need to make sure we are contlnually reachin8 these levels 8oln8 forwards.
All our staff, volunteers. and Trustees are up to date wlth thelr DBS checks and Safeguarding Tralnln8.
We have Several people in Trinity who have under8one the safer recruitment trainin8. who we can call on
when we are Intervlewlng new staff or volunteers.
Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to achieve this and to the cooperation ofvolunteers.
Julie Major- Parlsh ￿fegUardIng Officer.
Worshlp
I would like to thank some of the people who make Sunday service work, Blessin8 and Lee-Anne without
who's help we would not have a PowerPolnt each sunday. Our wonderful clergy 8rid8et, Elaine and Victor
who do such an amazing job encouraging us all. thank you. Norma for your service 50rting out the altar
cloths and the flowers, you are so faithful, these acts all help us to enter into a place of worship. it is
privilege to play each Sunday. and I have enjoyed watching Toby prog￿$5 wlth his Euitar playing this year.
I would also like to thank Hannah for joining me in leadin8 the singing each week.

Partoral Care
With the rise in livin8 Costs last year, it's not surprislng that peoplel familles in our communrty, like manv
others, have found it a struggle just to make ends meet. So there has been a great need for support wlth
practical thin8s like food and clothing etc. We commonly slgnpost people to other serves and to offer a
listening ear to support people with their mental health.
As has happened for many years, the love and care trom the people of this church family has also been
vital. l am proud to hear so often that people have fek loved and "at home" with us at Holy Trlnity.
Jane Holllday- Pastoral Care
3 Ws- Warm Wel¢omln8 Wednesdays
This year has seen its ups and downs in the 3W's group and has
seen it go from weekly to fortnightly, this was done to help it's
or8anisers.
We are now getting at least 11 people attendlng the sesslons
regularly. A ran8e of games are offered but Domlnos has been
the favourite throughout. People have been learnln8 new
crafts tOBether and helping each other. There is always a lot of
chat and laughter in the group, and it is and ha5 proved to be a
800d place to meet others and not to be alone.
Refreshments, crafts and games have been provided, so all
that Is needed Is for people to brln8 themselves and loln In wlth
the banter when they feel comfortable.
Rlthard & Tra¢y Hurd- Communlty Mlnlst•rs
Communlty Café
Café has been busier than ever thls year, and has a real

about joining the team.
During café we have some of the Mlddlesbrough Football Club
Foundation team come in and they are brilliant at talking to
people and helping out. They even gave out MFC scarves and

We love a Blrthday celebratlon In the café and cake Is a must
to ￿lebrate a blrthday.
Thank you to all our customers who support the communlty

In June, a group ofchurches puton an event at

"Festival Teesslde Is o huge evongellstlc

We took 15 fam511es to the event on the Saturday. we took enough sandwlches to feed the 5000 and drlnks
8alore. The event was so busy, and we created a base for famllies to come and go from while they explored
the park. There were so many actlvitles to choose from, face painting, games, crafts, bounoi castle5.
On the evenin8 there was a music festival on both evenings. All this was a way of sharin8 the word of God
In different ways. Everything was free as a gift from the churches as a way of dlsplaying Gods love. The
famllles had a great tlme, and we had a great tlme 8ettln8 to know the famllles.

Trlnlty Garden Club PCC Report- Mlsslon Outreach Z024- Rev. Elalne Curry
Trinity Garden Club runs every Monday from 10am till 12pm, although very often it runs well into the
afternoon, especially on a warni sunny day. The group are also happy to meet up at Cloister café on
Tuesday mornSn8.
The garden this year has produced an abundance of ve8etables and plenty of fruit, including apples, pears
and plums. The sweetcorn has been plentiful, the only negative was someone from outside the garden
club stripping bare the 5weetcorn which was upsettin8 to the member5 because it was not ripe or readv
to be picked. The team leaves outside fresh produce at the height of the season, especially new potatoes
and runner beans. One of our young volunteers especially enjoyed planting the sunflowers and collecting
the seeds at the end of the summer with the idea of sellinB the seeds to reinvest back into the 8arden.

What was lovelywas two mature ladies walking past the garden and making lovely comments about how
beautiful the garden was. We invlted them In for a cup of tea and gave them some produce to take away.
The neighbouring communltyalso comment when passing byand tell usthat they have a lovelyview from
the living room and kitchen windows. We are often out collecting any litter that has stuck to the church
railin8s and uplifting the weeds from the tamac sides and alon8 the front of the church.
The care that the team has extends beyond our actual boundaries. Our hlghllght was a strong and robust
fence being ererted around the garden perimeter,. our members were over the moon, and we made a
promise that we would look after this fence.
Many thanks to the PCC.

This year we split the children and the
young people and created 2 groups so that
we could have more focused discussions.
Lee-Anne and Franklin worked with the
young people, while Tracy. 8lessln& Chlchl
and Jane worked with the children.
Thi5 year we took the youth to a church on
Sunday evening in Yarm for an event
called Refresh which is a youth event open to all churches and is held once a term. They also attended
full day on a Saturday In summer where there were different workshops to attend.

Multlply
In 20241 ran a series on the Fruits of the Spirit during Breakfast term- which at the time sounded brilllant.
However. on reflectlon I don't thlnk It went as well with having a month between the next fruit.
I have however enjoyed trying new ideas - singing the Lord's
Prayer, usin8 8ames where appropriate and having table
discussions. As always, we continue to pray for families around
the community to join u5.
Qo
l also ran a Start Course durlng the day and had 2 ladies join
each week. These ladies generated a brilliant discussion, and I
hold them both in prayerto see where this takesthem.

Messy Chrlstmas Eve
We decided to try Something new for Christmas Eve, and we went with Messy Christmas Eve. We had 3
crafts, followed by a short service and finlshing with food. Well, we didn't anticipate the number of
families who would come through the door. It was incredible- they made stars, crowns and a manger for
baby Jesus. We san8 and watched the Christmas story in Lego form. Just trying new ways to engage
famllies into the wonder of Christmas.
