INTRODUCTION BY TH E CHAIR, school Sacred Heart High in Hammersmith, had all been trained byThe QCF as LTA Youth Leaders, as part of our drive to build a new female workforce. The on-courr session was delivered by our Head of Foundation and the girls have since utilised their skills 3t local Borough tennis events that have also been organised byThe QCF. comniunity club activities, which are almost all f ree or heavily subsidised - over soo local participants benef itting this year up f rom around 300 Lhe previous year. We are also proud rh31 inclusivity is at the foref ront of everything The QCF has delivered this year and our regular community club festivals offer an amazing experience with wonderfully positive feedback f rom those attending. Tina Smith The Trustees, Report and Annual Review for October 2022 to September 2023 reflects a year of transformational change for The Queen's Club Foundation IQCFI. It was an honour for me to succeed our longstanding Chair, Baroness Amanda Sater and I'm hugely grateful io our Foundation team and to our Trustees for all their dedication and commitment in taking The QCF forward in our mission to improve lives through racket sports. The majority of our work continues to take place locally. yet increasingly our work has national recognition (due to the excellent programmes. social media exposure and our link with The Queen'5 Club itself). Our on-court activation events surrouriding the cinch Championships (the ATP SOO tennis event held in June) show the local impact we are having on children and their families enabling us to deliver community spori in line with the LTA'S message of'Tennis Opened Up" locally and inspiiing others nationally. Our work this year has focused on widening community participation especially to those who may not have access to racket spoits, often because of background or circumstances. 76% of our participants have been f rom ethnic minorities and we have also had a strong focus on disability, mental health and women and girls- all showing signif icant figures in our I mpact Report. Fundraising continues to be a major focus for our charity. We are most grateful to The Queen's Club Board, The Queen's Club IQCI and its members for the support we receive. In tandem, the launch of our new website wnfvw.queensclLJbfoundation.co.uk has aided and improved communication of who we are and whatwe do. The QCF is also grateful to The LTA Tennis Foundation for awarding us a three-year granl in support of OLJr community outreach programmes and to help us develop a community hub site. This grant. generous individual donations, support from The Queen's Club and other Foundation5 have put us on a f irmer f Inancial footing with total income this financial year of over £190k up f rom the previous year of over £52K. However, we will be continuing to look at ways to improve our long-term f inancial sustainability by generating regular recurring income through the introduction of initiatives such as è Friends, scheme, a Major Donor's scheme and a Legacy scheme. Our Summer Rave camps ai Fulham Boat Reach Club's Free Water Sports Week, were a key example of how we can add value to the physical, emotional and mental well-being of local secondary school children through sport. The camps addressed issues of lack of appropriate summer activities. involvement with anti-social behaviour and Kate Mauricz This year has been an exciting one for The QCF. We firmly established ourselves as a trusted community sports provider. We consolidated and ref ined existing outreach progratnmes offered via our f ree primary schools squash programme and via our expanding f ree tennis programme, as well as offering tasters for local schoo15 in real ier)nis and delivering subsidised programmes targeted towards increasing the numbers of girls playing tennis. the tennis activities provided by The QCF were extremely well received. We are also pleased to have developed our relationship with the West London Partnership, delivering several tennis camps at St Paul's School for local non- fee-paying school children. Many of these children had not had an opportunity previously to try tennis as it was not a sport provided by their school and these camps as well as other regular weekly classes demonstrate howwe are removing barriers to participatior) and opening up opportunities for all. We successfully increased the numbers of those benef iting from our delivery f rom 300 to over 500 children. l am delighted with the curriculum time squash programme, where S schools regularly receive coaching at The Club inclLJding for the f ir5t time. a SEND school for children with speech, language and communication diff iculties. We demonstrated our commitment to a fully inclusive approach to all of our sessions. We also highlighted delivery to those with specif ic disabilities such as our Our new look impact report shows how focused our activities this year have been on maiginalised communities. We will continue going forwards to build on these foundations and increase the numbers of those participating f rom such communities across our programmes. She wasn't interested in sport at all, only in books so we decided to push her by enrolling her at QCF. Getting up at 7 am for the 8..30 se59ion on Sunday was 3150 a turn off for her as she likes lazing in bed on weekends. To our amazement after one term at QCF she begged us to continue. We have developed our Community Club coaching team to include 14 LTA Accredited coache5. to learn about and experience visually impaired tennis with demonstrations f rom top-ranked national players. Our QCF tutors, Kate Maurici and Laura Slater delivered the LTA Youth Leaders Programme to 30 teenagers throughout the school year at two venues.. The QLJeen's Club and Sacred Heart School in Hammersmith. We invited our coaching leam to The CILib for a social event and feedback session. We hdve Soyofemale coaches on the team including a female Hedd Coacb. We invited 30 volunteer5 in total from Gartner and Goldman Sachs to assist at our festivals Manyofthese leaders supported the coaches in running the Hammersmith & Fulham School's Games, supervising and scoring matches in a two-day event with 120 children in Years 3 & 4 from 12 schools. FINANCIAL REVIEW The combined income f rom all of these sources is used to support the promotion and delivery of community activity in racket sports as well as the management of that activity and our daily overheads. Our f inancial performance foi the year ending September 2023 ha5 been pariicularly strong. We have produced a gross income of £190.37212022'. E55,2651. a significant increase on past years. In our drive to generate more sustainable income we applied successfully to organisations and family four)dations. This was a significant move away f rom an events based income strategy and one which we intend to continue. With the cost of living set to negatively impact local communities and physical education not piiorit15ed in schools, our programmes will be more important than ever in giving vulnerable children and adults the chance to participate and thrive through racket sports. children who have completed 2-3years of our programmes can continue progressing with rheir tenni5 and feèl the social, mental and physical benef its of the sport. of schoo5s accessing the LTA Youth Girls programme. the Fulham Football Foundation collaborating and convening inspiring events to increase our collective impact. In the 2023-2024 Academic Year. proposed expansion ofThe QCF Squash programme will include increasing numbers of participants in our Queen's Club session5 35 well as outreach into schools, saving schools the time and resources needed to travel to The Queen's Club and reach Schoolg where there are fewer facilities. This will increase the number of PLJpils who will benefit f rom accessing the bènef its of squash. We aim to expand our SEND offering to work with another SEN D school and will host a Disability Festival in Spring 2024 and will see a rise in the number of adults accessing our dementia f riendly classes and will place an increased focus on serving refLJgee communities. Our core focus will be on serving children and young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds and minority groups.
