At all times the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit, this has been incorporated into all of our planning for the years activities and has informed the work that we have done throughout the year. We have regularly reviewed this guidance during our trustee meetings.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

We have been working in partnership with the local hospitals to determine the wish list of items and needs for the respective bereavement suites and identifying where there is a need for the equipment and resources.

We have been able to signpost families affected by bereavement to receive the appropriate support and help and have included links within our website so families can access the right level of support when they need it.

We have developed the relationships with health care professionals and midwifes, identifying the training and support requirements and working in partnership with other local charity called Children and Families in Grief.

We have participated in a number of public events to raise the profile for the Charity and also to highlight where improvements are needed within the bereavement support and care within hospital.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

This has been a challenging year for the charity with the global pandemic affecting our ability to work in hospitals and with the pressure on services we have not been able to engage in the same way with staff at the hospitals.

However we did se the opening of the bereavement suite in North Devon Hospital and all of the building works completed.

In April 2020 we secured funds from a grant and in November we secured the funds from the Co-Op which enabled the works to be completed.
