we identified the laws and regulations applicable to the charity through discussions with management and trustees and from
our profession313nd sertor experience., 8nd
- we focused on specific laws and regu18tions which we considered may have a direct material effert on the financial
statements or the operations of the charity, including the Charities Att 2011.,
- we assessed the extent of compliance with the laws 3nd regulations Identified above through making enquiries of
management and inspetting documentation.
We as5e5sed the 5U5ceptibility of the charity's financial statements to material misstatement, including obtaining an
understanding of how fraud might occur by..
making enquirie5 of management as to where they considered there was susceptibility to fraud, their knowledge of
actual, suspected and alleged fraud., and
considering the internal contro15 in place to mitigate risks of fraud and non<ompliance with law5 and regulations.
To address the risk of f￿ud through m3n3gement bias 8nd override of controls, we..
performed 8n81ytical procedures to identify 3ny unusual or unexperted re18tionships,'
tested journ31 entries to identify unusual trans3rtions'
- assessed whetherjudgements and assumptions made In determining the accountinB estimates set out in note 2 were indicative
of potent131 bias., and
investigated the rationale behind significant or unusual transattions.
In response to the risk of irregularities and non-compliance with laws and regulations, we designed procedures which
included, but were not limited to..
agreeing financial statement disclosures to underlying supporting documentation,. and
reading the tninute5 of meetings of those charged with governance,. and
enquiring of mana6ement as to actual and potential Ittlgation and clairn5.
Because of the inherent limitations of an audit, there is a risk that we will not detect all irregularities, including those leading to a
material mi5Statement in the financial statements or non-cotnpliance with regulation. This risk increases the more that
compliance with a law or regul3tlOn 15 retnoved from the events and transactions reflected in the financial 5tatement5, as we
will be le55 likelyto become Bware of instances of non-cotnpliance. The risk 15 also greater regarding irregularities occurrins due
to fraud rather than error, a5 fraud involve5 intentional concealrnent, forgery, collusion, omi55ion or mi5repre5entation.
A further description of our responsibilities for the audit of the financial statements is located on the Financial Reporting
Council's website at www.frc.org.uklauditorsresponsibilities. This description forms p3rt of our Report of the Independent
Auditors.
