Chairs Report - St Dennis & Nanpean Community Trust AGM 2026
The St Dennis and Nanpean Community Trust established back in 2016 continues its commitment to supporting our local communities. Since our formation as a Community Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), we have consistently submitted annual reports to the Charity Commission, maintaining transparency and accountability in all our activities.
While we currently have vacancies for resident trustees representing St Dennis and Nanpean, we remain proactive in promoting these opportunities through social media and local networks. We are hopeful that more community members will come forward to support the Trust’s mission and help shape its future.
In 2025, we received 21 grant applications and were pleased to support 12 of these, awarding a total of £100,249.38 in funding. The projects supported this year reflect the diversity and vibrancy of our communities and include:

A contribution towards the enhancement of the Hendra Room at ClayTAWC;

Funding to establish the Nanpean Sewing Group;

A contribution towards St Dennis Community Fireworks Display;

Funding for a Christmas lunch for residents of both St Dennis and Treviscoe.
These initiatives demonstrate the Trust's continuing impact in improving community facilities, supporting local activities, and enhancing opportunities for residents of all ages.
The Trust is currently updating its website to provide a more accessible and user-friendly experience, making it easier for community groups and residents to access information about the Trust.
To date, the Trust has approved 118 projects , awarding nearly £1.7 million in grant funding to benefit our local communities. We remain committed to encouraging applications from local community groups and organisations and continue to seek new ways to promote the availability of funding to those who can make a positive and lasting difference within our communities.
Our Administrator and Treasurer, Sharon Davey, continues to support the Trust on a self-employed basis, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Sharon also provides timely financial reporting and valuable insights, helping to maintain the Trust’s strong financial governance and oversight.
In closing, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who contributes to the work of the Trust, especially our trustees, past and present, for their dedication, time, and unwavering commitment to the communities we serve. Their efforts continue to make a lasting difference, and I look forward to seeing the Trust build on its achievements in the years ahead.

Treasurers Report - St Dennis and Nanpean Community Trust
Many thanks to James Bendrey Accountants for auditing the Trust accounts for the period 1[st] January 2025 to 31st December 2025.
Income
Our total income for the period 1[st] January 2025 to 31[st] December 2025 was £183,200.40. This can be broken down to funding £138,962.45 from Suez and £43,625.41 which was two years admin fees and £612.54 in unspent grant funds.
Expenditure
During the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025, the Trust awarded grants totalling £110,640.62 and incurred Trust administration costs of £3,011.88. During the year, the Trustees agreed to establish two additional bank accounts: a six-month savings account and an instant access savings account. This decision was made to maximise the return on funds held for future community projects while maintaining appropriate access to cash reserves.
As at 31 December 2025, the Trust held a carried forward balance of £383,638.64. These funds were distributed across three separate bank accounts as part of the Trust's financial safeguarding arrangements. It should be noted that included within this balance was £130,000 of grant funding that had been approved but still not released at the year end.
It is particularly encouraging that we continue to receive grant applications from a diverse range of community organisations for a wide variety of projects, demonstrating strong engagement across the Trust's area of operation.
In summary, I am pleased to report another successful year for the Trust. Our strong financial position has enabled us to support many deserving organisations, delivering positive and lasting benefits to communities.
