This is to ensure succession of leadership, encourage the input of new ideas. skills and energy. One new trustee has been recruited and a further two polential trustees have been identified within this period. Section C Ob'ectives and activities The object of the Sileby Community Library CIO ISCL CIO) is: To promote. for the benefit of the residents of Sileby and surrounding area, the provision of a public library for reerealion andlor other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities, by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large, in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of said residents. Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document TAR Mar¢h 2012 The focus of Sileby Community Library is always to ensure that the library remains a positive asset lo Ihe community. Thè trustee and managemenl committee continue to review the library's offer of servi￿5 regularly to ensure it remains relevant to the community and provide opportunities for volunteering. Community links are well established with the Local Authorities, Charnwood GP Network, Police, Mental Health team, Borough councillors, local community groups and businesses. Summary of the main actlvities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on publlc benefit) A full events programme of activtties scheduled throughout the year. particularly for children, has again been successful and well attended bringing customers into the library. Volunteer recruitment has been steady during this period and the volunteer base has been maintained. The library has provided volunteering opportunities for all sections of the community, e.g. Duke of Edinburgh students, university students, retired individuals, those who are neurodiverse. During the period, the Trustees considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit when undertaking the charity's work. Additional details of objectlves and actlvitles (Optional information) The contribution made by all the volunteers who manage the library, look after the accounts, organise an event or cover a shift cannot be valued. Imthout the volunteers, the library would close. Visitor numbers to the library have increased by 8.350 2. New members to the library have increased by 60 3. Active borrowers to the library have increased by 70 4.
