Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 The accounts are showing a surplus for the
period of £31,241 (2024: £23,038 surplus).
Income has increased to £208,197 (2024:
£176,093). The increase is due more
Government Funding via County Council
funding. We also ensure our sessions are
as fully booked as possible.
During the year, we received no external
grants (2024 - £5,313). The grants from
last year were fully expended in the year.
The charity’s expenditure of £176,956.
(2024: £153,055) has supported the
objectives of the charity. The main
increases in the year were staff wages, in
particular the increases in employer
National Insurance and property
improvements and equipment.
Surpluses made will be reinvested back
into furthering the aims of the Charity.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 A minimum of £52,000 is needed as a
contingency fund and a minimum of
£10,000 for reserves. This is to provide
reserves to maintain the operations of the
pre-school in the event of a reduction in
numbers attending.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 All the funds of the charity at the year end
in this and the prior year are unrestricted
and can be used in accordance with the
charitable objectives of the trustees and the
charity does not have any stipulation on
how these funds should be spent.
At the year end, the designated funds had
been fully expended on updating toys and
equipment (2024 - £552).
The restricted fund had also been fully
expended, which related to food vouchers
following funding from Oxfordshire County
Council, the funding was fully expended in

the year. The total value of vouchers was
£2,570 (2024 - £1,065).
Within the deposit account balance,

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 July 2025.

Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of basis of report the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
