I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 / 03 / 2024** .
- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
**Independent** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have **examiner's statement** come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

Section D Achievements and performance
**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**
**Achievements for the period:**
Ukrainian Support Fund (funded by the Freemasons’ charity) (From February 2023 to January 2024)
We worked with building further relationships with the Ukrainian community in Medway and supported up to 100 Ukrainian Families. Our primary contact has been Vita Hood, a long-term Ukrainian resident who teaches English at Mid-Kent College (and has been an active volunteer for the new arrivals to the UK). Working with Mid-Kent College, we organised a professional employment adviser and CV writer to be on-site, allowing adults who are attending their English classes to take time out and see them.
We also provided a safe community space once a month, to allow the Ukrainians spread throughout the Medway Towns to meet and socialise. Our activities included water sports and barge rides in the local area, a bus tour of Medway to further familiarise our new friends into the cultural area, cooking workshop, dancing activities and karaoke.
Ageless Art project (funded by Test Bed Fund - Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group) (From September 2022 to April 2023)
Our project addressed integration, inclusion and social isolation for young and old people by introducing them to all types of arts. We took groups from 6 schools (approx. 250 primary school children; approx. 90 sixth form students from secondary school; approx. 12 from college) to Sun Pier House (a not for profit organisation, working to support artists and creative industries in Medway) to meet artists and learn about their work. We booked the Riverside Gallery at SPH for a celebration of Islamic Art and Culture young Muslim artists had the opportunity to display their work. 75 families attended an award evening. The children were from area of high deprivation. We also took elderly people (from care and retirement homes) to have an art workshop to take them out of their isolation. At the end of the project the young people had the opportunity to take a ride on a working barge (6 barge rides in total), going along the River Medway, learning about the area where they live.

Section D Achievements and performance
## Czech and Slovak Association - Mikulas
We supported the Czech and Slovak Association with their St Nicholas event (Mikulas) on admin tasks. We attended the event this year and saw more than 100 different eastern European families celebrating their culture all together.
## PLOP project (funded by Awards for All) (October 2022 to October 2023)
For several years we have delivered a water sports project, primarily for younger children with special needs. Minority ethnic groups and six schools attended the water sports centre at Chatham Maritime’s Basin 2 to enjoy paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing etc. in an environment beneficial to their wellbeing.
Our purpose was to take residents with physical or mental issues to a unique environment to take part in activities that will improve their self-esteem by working alone and in teams to build selfconfidence and improve their wellbeing.
## Medway CAN! (funded by Medway Council) (2023)
This project is sponsored by the local authority – Medway Council. It is above healthy lifestyle and exercise. We have arranged for a small rural primary school to develop and sustain a project which will improve the health and life style of children and parents from the school, as well as the wider community. They have organised several sport sessions and healthy cooking workshops and even events where families were invited to participate.
Fit for Purpose project (funded by Sport England) (January 2023 to December 2024)
Fit for Purpose is a new project aiming to improve physical health and local sports engagement. We’re targeting migrant communities and young people at risk of becoming NEETs.
We’ll offer a variety of sports activities, including circus sports, water sports, climbing, horse riding, and bowling. These activities aim to encourage participants to try new things, learn new skills, and improve their social skills, especially considering the effects of lockdown.
We aim to create a safe, clean, and fun environment to help overcome initial barriers to engagement, such as health fears, anxiety, and other mental health issues.

- Encourage participants to take control of their health conditions to be healthier and have fun together
- Engage the most isolated within the community
Just Move it – The Make Moves Fund (funded by Nike and Spotify) (March to August 2024)
Nike and Spotify have joined forces to launch a brand-new initiative to improve the mental wellbeing of girls by leveraging the power of music to get the least active girls moving. Get ready to be swept off your feet by the “Just Move It” project! This vibrant initiative is all set to transform the lives of 340 young women from 10 to 17 inclusive, infusing them with the joy of dance and music. These are girls who have faced hardships, hailing from disadvantaged backgrounds, and we’re here to change that!
We’re thrilled to be working with refugee girls who’ve journeyed from countries like Sudan, Iran, Somalia, Ethiopia, Iraq, and Syria, migrant girls originating from Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria, the Ukrainian community and those living in the highdeprivation areas around Chatham Central ward.
Our project is bursting with energy, offering at least two culturally diverse dance and music sessions each week over a six-month period. These sessions won’t just be regular classes - they’ll be a celebration of movement and rhythm, led by a professional teacher who knows how to create a fun and friendly atmosphere AND by the girls themselves. But that’s not all! For those girls who are ready to step into the spotlight, we’re offering the chance to develop a live performance at the end of the project. This performance isn’t just about showcasing their talent - it’s about inspiring and empowering other young people from their schools and communities. So, let’s “Just Move It” and dance our way to a brighter, healthier, and happier future!

## isOLateD no more !
We want to provide a range of social activities for elderly people; older people with long-term health conditions and older people that are most isolated within the community who would not normally be able to access these activities.
We want to run a project around several activities: Afternoon Tea and Cake, Bingo; Karaoke and Talent Show, Trips Out - Beach Trip, Upnor Castle Visit, River Medway Boat Rides, Fort Amherst Tour; Art Class Taster Sessions; Chair Yoga; Dance and Bowling Sessions. We are aiming to support 1,200 older and isolated people over two years.
We will aim to work with diverse communities such as generation Ukrainians; Muslims through KMWA; Eastern Europeans; Roma; Asian community though Medway Diversity Forum and we will work with lonely elderly people such as residential care homes; residential retirement homes and RVS network.
**Note :** During this financial year, we have received funding from Henry Smith, Kent Community Foundation, Colyer Fergusson, Foyle Foundation (£7,000), Postcode Society Trust, Sport England, National Lottery Community Fund, Nike And Spotify. We would like to send a huge thank you to all our funders without who it would be impossible to support our diverse communities in Medway !
