The Trustees present their annual report and the financial statements for the year ended 13 October 2022.
The financial statements comply with current statutory requirements, the memorandum and articles of association and the Statement of Recommended Practice - Accounting and Reporting by Charities (SORP 2005).
Structure, governance & management
The organisation is a charitable Incorporated Organisation registered as a charity on 13 October 2015.
All Trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no financial benefits from the charity.
We are a small charity organisation with scope to grow bigger in staffing level.
Thus far, all our trustees, the CEO and the Manager of the charity have volunteered their time and expertise.
Objectives and activities

The advancement of education within local communities around the world including United Kingdom, particularly the third world countries.

The relief of poverty within local communities around the world for the most deprived children in need, with particular focus on the third world countries or as determined by the trustees from time to time and in accordance to Children Savers governing document by providing educational support.
Public benefit focus on ensuring that our activities achieve our charitable aims
The Trustees review the aims, objectives and activities of the charity twice a year. This report focusses at what the charity has achieved and the outcomes of its work within the last twelve months. The Trustees report the success of each key activity and the benefits the charity has brought to those children that it is set up to help.
At every Charity Review meeting the Trustees ensure the charity's aims, objectives and activities remained focused on its stated purposes.
The Trustees have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity's aims and objectives and in planning its future activities. In particular, the Trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives that have been set.
Beneficiaries of our services
Children Savers’ direct beneficiaries are any child in need of educational support for the advancement of a better life.
Charitable Activities in the past year
Introduction
Children Savers is taking this opportunity to thank all our supporters to be standing with us throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic.
We are committed to achieve our Aims and Objectives throughout this tough time after the pandemic.
Children Savers is proud to continue raising awareness of the importance of education in a child’s life. We are constantly increasing awareness of the help and support needed for poor and disadvantaged children around the world through various activities and events in the local communities and most London Universities.
We Are also committed in achieving these objectives in Local communities through our campaign of 5K Fun Run In London.
Throughout the year, we maintaining the creation of new relationships with 500 (and still growing in number) local shops in London to support us in our charitable objectives and are moving closer to executing our business plan to achieve our aims in building the Educational House in Zimbabwe, as well as other future projects.
We have a very strong number of over 1500 (and growing) supporters following us closely on Children Savers’ social media .
In light of this context, the charity has delivered the following activities to achieve its charitable objectives:
Aim 1 – Build partnerships and collaborate with local shops to take part in our charitable events.
Aim 2 – We are constantly liaising with most London universities and getting students to volunteer at our charitable activities.
We are continuously setting up plans to have at least one Children Savers ambassador in each London University.
We are building strong relationships with students to share their time and expertise in achieving our aims.
We are maintaining our plans to raise awareness of adopting a healthy lifestyle by taking part in weekly 5k Fun Runs.
We are teaming up with food stall businesses to collaborate with us and raise awareness for our charitable objectives

We are extremely grateful to all our funders and to those who support us with time and expertise.
Future Plans
Our focus for the year ahead is Carry on delivering the new Strategy and Business Plan, including the financial sustainability and income plan. Highlights include:

We will expand our charitable events throughout London in the years to come to help us fundraise to our maximum potential and raise as much awareness as we can.

There is work in progress to organise weekly 5k Fun runs in the city as well as other UK Cities ,with all our supporters and London university students once it’s safer to do and pending the relaxation of the current coronavirus restrictions. We are hoping and anticipating things will get better the following year.

We are working hard to implement one of our main fundraising events with all local shops and add more supporters to our organisation.

We will continue to produce a monthly members’ bulletin, send regular email communications and maintain our social media presence across a range of platforms.

The trustees have recognised the need to invest in and build up our staffing levels and a new staffing plan was designed as part of the new strategy.

We are privileged to have enrolled new volunteer staff working on our social media networking projects in raising awareness of our charitable objectives.

The Trustees have designed new plans how to fundraise efficiently in order to raise more funds to cover the objectives of the charity.
Appointment of Charity Trustees

(1) Apart from the first charity trustee, every trustee must be appointed for a term of 5 years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

(2) In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity must have regard to skills, knowledge and expertise needed for the effective administration of the organisation.
Our Trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements of the organisation. The Trustees are also responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charitable company.
