  2. Chairman’s Report – Thank you all for attending. Thanks to Secretary and Treasurer

Thank you for joining us at this year’s Annual General Meeting for Cressage Village Hall. I’m pleased to present this report, reflecting on the past year of activity, growth, and community spirit.

We’ve had a number of successful events that have not only raised important funds but also brought people together. The Christmas Fayre was a real highlight, raising over £1,000—a fantastic achievement made possible by the hard work of volunteers and the incredible generosity of our local community. Our regular bingo nights continue to provide a steady monthly income and a fun social opportunity for residents. Other events, such as the Family Quiz, Family Bingo, and the Christmas Light Switch-On, have been equally well received.

I’d like to take a moment to thank our regular user groups, who keep the hall buzzing with activity throughout the year. Special thanks go to Cressage WI, the Tai Chi group, and the Gardening Club for their continued support. Many thanks to Ben & Laura Christmas for organising and running the Swap Shop with all proceeds donated to the village hall. We’re also delighted to welcome a new group, K9, who started in May 2025, and we look forward to seeing their sessions grow.

Looking ahead, we’re especially excited about the upcoming Summer Fayre in August, where we’re proud to support Mila, an inspirational 12-year-old, who is leading the organisation of the event. It’s wonderful to see young people so engaged with the community, and we’re thrilled to be part of her efforts.

Of course, we also recognise the challenges that remain. In particular, we are looking to attract more regular groups and bookings to make fuller use of the hall and maintain its long-term sustainability. We also acknowledge the need to resurface the car park, which is something we will continue to work towards in the coming year.

Finally, I want to offer my sincere thanks to our committee members. Your dedication, time, and behind-the-scenes contributions keep everything running smoothly. Thank you all for your continued efforts and support.

As we look to the future, I’m confident that—with your help—Cressage Village Hall will continue to grow as a welcoming, lively, and valuable space for all.
