CRESSAGE VILLAGE HALL COMMITTEE Registered Charity No. 1163935

MINUTES OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD AT CRESSAGE VILLAGE HALL MONDAY 3[rd] JUNE 2019

Present : Paul Aston, Matthew Ellis, Marie Instan, Clare Walshaw, Jak Walshaw, Joan Slater, Janet Underwood

Apologies: David Quemby, Harriet Devlin, Sue Mountford,

1. Minutes of previous AGM - These were read and proposed by Marie Instan and Seconded by Matt. All agreed.

2. Chairman’s Report – Thank you all for attending.

Since the renovation the hall has seen a continued increase in bookings, we have had Christenings, Wedding receptions, Wedding Anniversaries, Children’s parties, and as the word spreads about the improved facilities we are getting more enquiries, for example we have had a trial session of YOGA.

I would also like to thank our regular users, WI, TAI CHI, SILVER MOVERS, GARDENING CLUB, PARISH COUNCIL and TABLE TENNIS who continue to support the hall.

We are now getting enquiries from other groups

we always try different events, and this year was our first CEILIDH evening, it was an excellent evening, everyone enjoyed the dancing and refreshments, we also held a raffle on the evening which raised £108, which was given to the Air Ambulance.

We will be holding another CEILIDH evening this year.

The XMAS Fayre was a great success, and we would like to thank all the stall holders, and all those who turned up on the day.

A big thanks to the WI who managed all the kitchen duties on the day.

There was an excellent turnout for Remembrance Day, the Village hall organised the marshalling, thanks to David Quemby for his loan of Hi Vis jackets, and it was good to see the people in the hall afterwards for refreshments, we held a collection on the day and £36 was given to the Royal British Legion.

We have also upgraded the heating in the hall, as we found the existing heating insufficient, and we have plans to upgrade the remaining heaters, and we have successfully applied to the Tesco bags for life, and we are awaiting the outcome of that vote.

What next as a project?, we would like to upgrade the Car Park and its drainage, but that would cost approx. £50k, so we will have to see what grants are available ?.

I would also like to thank Marie, Clare and Matt for all their support this year.

On a sad note I will be resigning as Chairman today as I have family commitments , but I have enjoyed every minute of my 3 years as Chairman and I wish the Committee all the best for the future, and I will continue to support them as much as I can.

3. Financial Report – Presented by Matt

A financial statement was presented as at 31.12.18 which showed Bank account and cash in hand of £14,581.76 including Fund Raising Account of £7,500. Marie Instan proposed the accounts and Paul Aston seconded and everyone agreed.

4. Letting Secretary’s Report – Presented by Marie

Lettings continue to go well with bookings steadily increasing. We have had wedding this year which was a great success. We also had some new regular bookings, and some new annual booking in the Thai Chi academy

6. Election of Committee -

1 one new application received for committee members. Those elected and proposed are Jak Walshaw, Matthew Ellis, Marie Instan and Clare Walshaw.
