Registered Charity No: 1163925

Dunstable Christadelphian Ecclesia 17, Kirby Road, Dunstable, LU6 3JH

Annual Report for the year ended 5 April 2025.

The ecclesia is administered by the Trustees (the ‘Arranging Committee’) who are elected annually by the members of the ecclesia. An election took place in May 2024 via post and using a ballot box at the hall as some members attended meetings on Zoom. The year’s Arranging Committee comprises of :

Recording Brother: Mr Jeremy John Goodwin Assistant Recording Brother: Dr. Jeremy Arthur Pearce

Finance Brother: Mr John David Vickers

Other Members: Mr Joseph John Vickers

Mr John Morley

Mr Barry Howard

The Organisation has no permanent Chairman. The Recording Brother acts as secretary to the committee and is the prime contact for the ecclesia. Meetings of the Arranging Committee, Ecclesial Members Meetings and Annual General Meeting are chaired in rotation by the other Trustees.

The objectives of the ecclesia are to meet for worship, fellowship, Bible study, preaching, teaching and recreation. The activities and welfare of adults, young people and children, together with the upkeep of our premises are funded almost entirely by members of the ecclesia which numbered 98 on 5th April 2025. We are continuing to support the ongoing costs and special appeals from our central charities.

It is our policy not to seek financial assistance from outside the Christadelphian Community; Occasionally non-members donate funds during our public events e.g., coffee mornings. All these events are for local charities. Booklets and materials used for our preaching activities are offered free of charge to the public.

Our Sunday morning service is held each week at 11.15 am at the hall and on Zoom via a hybrid system on nearly every Sunday. Also on Sundays, preaching meetings translated into Farsi were

either held in the Hall at 2.00pm or 8.00pm via Zoom in the year to 5th April 2025. Refreshment and then lunch is provided to members and friends with food contributions brought by members.

Our Thursday Bible class meeting is held on Zoom at 7.30 pm and every fortnight on a Wednesday on Zoom at 8.00pm a Bible Class for our Iranian members translated into Farsi was held in the year to April 2025. There is a Small Sunday School available each week in term time at the hall at 11.15 am as required for up to 8 children.

We continue to instruct Iranians for baptism and had approximately 50 baptised members as at 5th April 2025. For our own members, we held services, social events and a study and fellowship meeting in September attending the hall and /or via Zoom. We continue to look for new ways to promote the good news message of things pertaining to the Lord Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God whether online or at the hall. We have also distributed Bibles in town centres and had a stand at a local Carnival.

We have continued to support our elderly members and those with health problems as best we can with telephone calls, visits, notes and cards as well as sending magazines. We have given some financial assistance when requested and further assistance as appropriate. All but three of our elderly or frail members can attend our services at the hall or via Zoom. Attendance at the hall was approximately between 30 to 60 which included Iranian friends, many of whom have become members of our community by being baptised; one or two have been transferred from another Christadelphian Ecclesia as members and we continue to prepare those who requested baptism with instruction on Zoom at the hall or at members’ homes as carefully as possible to ensure, as best we can, their understanding and acceptance of our beliefs as well as their sincerity.

The financial position of Ecclesia remains sound and we continue to carry out minor refurbishment of our premises for the benefit of everyone attending our services and activities. A fair proportion of our budget was still being devoted to helping our Iranian friends with travel expenses, food and mobile phone cards for communication. However with more leaving the area, there is less need for travel support and contact is maintained via Zoom, email and WhatsApp.
