CIO 

Edward Gale, Kathleen Gale & Richard Gale collectively founded the Trustee selection methods charity. Bryan Hoile was asked by them to become a fourth trustee. As Mr (eg. appointed by, elected by) & Mrs Gale passed, Richard Gale & Bryan Hoile asked Thomas Baker to join them as Trustee.

Probate for The Estate of Kathleen Gale is nearing completion and in readiness the properties at Bridgewater have been transferred into the trust’s name and became an asset of The Gale Foundation Trust CIO 26[th] September 2022. Although the property became an asset of the charity on this date, due to probate not being finalised rent was collected by the then Freeholders Estate. Rent received for the period between Kathleen Gale and The Gale Foundation Trust will be returned to the Charity in due course. 

The value of these properties (Units 4 & 10, 6-8 Monmouth Street & Units 5-7 at the corner of Monmouth Street, Bridgewater) on the date of transfer was £155,000.00. This amount has been allowed for within the accounts as a donation. It is the intention of the Charity to retain the properties and gain rental income to enable us to further fulfil our objectives. 

- Probate is still ongoing, with more funds to be received by the Charity once finalised.

## Section D                      Achievements and performance 

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

As stated in Section C & in previous years the charity has made a substantial donation towards Wave 105’s Mission Christmas Appeal, this year was no different with the Charity providing 1622 toys for the less fortunate along the South Coast and spending £7760. 

With the turmoil in Ukraine and Afghanistan, it was agreed a total of £15,000 would be donated to Save the Children to support their efforts in these countries. Again as last year the charity has supported Christmas 4 Kids, who perform a touring puppet show in children’s hospices throughout the UK during the month of December. Total donation for this £2,000.00. 

The final donation was providing sports T-Shirts to the Poole Town Kid’s Initiative, promoting sports to Children in Poole and the surrounding area, enabling children of all backgrounds the opportunity to play Football and other sports.

As at the 31/03/2023 the charity held £28,933 within its bank accounts. At **Brief statement of the** present the charity has minimal overheads and a low level of activity. The **charity’s policy on reserves** Charity has gained an investment property which it intends to retain and collect rent from such property in order to achieve regular income to help support the Charity with its objectives.
