Recently Richard Gale became major shareholder of Poole Town FC and the Kids & Community Officer for the same, at the same time stepping down as vice Chairman for the club. This new control and influence on the football club will enable the trust to cement its help to locally disadvantaged children.

Richard Gale also recently became a trustee of SYCC (Somerford Youth and Community Centre), again this new role will help forward the trusts support in the wider area.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

As stated in Section C & in previous years the charity has made a substantial donation towards Wave 105’s Mission Christmas Appeal, the charity was able to hugely increase the number of gifts donated this year to 11,000 at a cost of £14,000.00.

Again as last year the charity has supported Christmas 4 Kids who perform a touring puppet show in children’s hospices throughout the UK during the month of December. Due to COVID these were done remotely via remote video conferencing, therefore bringing the cost of these shows down. Total donation for this £2,000.00.

£12,000 (£10,000 plus VAT) of the £13,000 donated to Poole Town F.C’s Kids Initiative was to Wave 105 FM for the sponsorship of an appeal. This sponsorship was to help further the reach of the Kids initiative and to publicise the work it was undertaking within the local community. The main thrust of this initiative is to help disadvantaged children enjoy the fun of football and this has enabled children registered with children’s charities across Dorset to participate for free in soccer schools run by the club during school holidays.

Section E Financial review

Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves

As at the 31/03/2021 the charity held £45,875 within its bank account. At present the charity has minimal overheads and a low level of activity. It is not considered necessary for reserves therefore to be held save to pay very occasional day-to-day expenses of running the charity.
