Morton on Swale Chairperson Report 2020 – 2021 

This year we havn’t been able to hold our usual AGM due to the pandemic, therefore I have been unable to deliver my report as usual. 

The past year has been a difficult one for all concerned. Obviously, the hall hasn’t been used by our regular users but we have had a donation from Craft and Chat and a donation from a raffle that was run in the village by a resident. These donations have been put towards buying an outside bench for the village hall. Thank you for the donations. 

Over the past year we have been able to apply for grants from the Government and Local Authority of which thankfully we were awarded. 

This paragraph was reported in last years report.  The committee have been considering the possibility of adding an extension to the existing building to enable us to have the facility of a separate meeting room, larger kitchen and extra storage but this is on hold at the moment. If we do go ahead when the pandemic is over, we will need to fund raise and apply for grants which will take time, also there is planning permission to apply for. 

Now that we are beginning to open up slowly we are finding the need to enlarge our kitchen facilities as social distancing cannot be maintained safely.  There fore we will start to rethink our plans.
