FOREWORD

This annual return is our seventh as a registered CIO and represents a period where the lingering impact of the Covid pandemic and other contributing factors regarding arts funding have affected our ability to plan events. We have used the year covered by this return to re-evaluate what events we produce in the future and seek innovative ways to fulfil our charitable commitments.

We are grateful to those who helped us to plan for the future, where possible. We are also grateful to individuals and organisations who explored possible projects with us that might not have been able to bring to fruition yet.

CHARITABLE OBJECTIVES

Perpetuo’s charitable objectives are:

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art of chamber music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals, workshops and development programmes and such other means as the trustees determine in order to make the music more accessible.

BENEFIT TO THE PUBLIC

Perpetuo seeks to perform to audiences and at places that are not necessarily identified with music as well as linking music to the other art forms such as dance, sculpture, painting and photography. In addition, the Ensemble organises workshops and other educational events to benefit those who are unable to learn about and enjoy music including the young, the elderly and those with disabilities.

OUR VISION

Perpetuo makes chamber music accessible, appealing and relevant. OUR MISSION

Perpetuo revitalises existing repertoire and commissions new chamber works to create innovative and adventurous programmes that engage with audiences.

This is how we achieve our mission:

ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT

As mentioned in the foreword, this period was greatly affected by the pandemic and other factors such as the availability of suitable arts funding for our events. During this period of reporting, Perpetuo has not produced any live events but work is ongoing to re-establish future opportunities for the group.

RESERVES

During the period of our seventh annual return we maintained our reserves at the level they were previously but were unable to add to them. We continue to explore different ways in which to gain greater stability through individual donations so that we are well placed to take on more performance projects within our charitable remit as the situation with the pandemic eases.
