|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|UHNT and JCUH Neonatal Units.<br>Following from previous years, we<br>have been able to continue to<br>extend financial support to families<br>where babies have been transferred<br>into JCUH from other hospitals for<br>intensive and high dependency<br>care.<br>**2.**The Charity honoured all requests<br>for financial support through<br>monetary grants to families to<br>contribute toward the cost of travel<br>and parking on hospital sites.<br>**3.**The Charity provided family support<br>to the value of £21,108<br>**4.**The Charity supported 129 families<br>throughout the 2024-25 period.<br>**5.**Families who have had extenuating<br>circumstances which result in<br>hardship have received emergency<br>funding or services to ease the<br>situation,<br>**6.**Parents who have received support<br>have told us that the financial and<br>meal voucher provision has been<br>very helpful and this remains a key<br>role of the Charity.<br>**7.**The V-Create video messaging<br>function added in previous years<br>continues to be successful and the<br>license renewed by the Charity to<br>enable its use in UHNT. (Note:<br>JCUH receive alternative funding for<br>this). This has allowed the Unit to<br>provide notes and photographs of<br>their babies when they are unable to<br>visit so that communication and<br>bonding remain and invaluable<br>memories can be made, kept and<br>stored.<br>**8.**Welcome bags / gifts to the<br>Neonatal units aim to introduce<br>positive experiences during a<br>family’s neonatal journey, and aim<br>to promote an inclusive experience<br>for the whole family, for example,<br>the provision of occasion gifts<br>(Fathers Day, Mothers Day, Easter,<br>Christmas) and sibling gifts. Baby<br>journals, lovingly created by one of<br>our volunteer trustees, continue to<br>be provided, and are used by<br>nursing staff and families alike to|





capture key stages of the journey in regular entries. **9.** The Charity continues to fund and organise North Tees Neonatal Community Playgroup. This involves venue hire, transport, refreshments and the purchase of developmentally appropriate and sensory toys to promote infant development. Volunteer support workers regularly attend the session, providing advice and support to parents, carers and professionals in delivery of this service.
