Review of Activities and Achievements
Finances
Opening cash on hand of £72,245.65. The year was fragmented, we were recovering from the Covid years, plus we had a new management team with our landlords. We lost 2 major 11v 11 pitches and were refused to run a tournament. The tournament is a major part of the club’s finances which allows us to keep the parents fees to a minimum which is a major part of our ethos. Without a tournament is would cost each parent around another £45 per year in extra funds, we had enough reserves to allow the club to keep the fees for the year without an increase, but this did dent the cash funds, but also to help, we cut back on some of our expenditure for equipment. This year, with interest investment returns being high with the bank, we decided to transfer £35,000 into an investment account with our bank, this should return interest without compromising of the day to day running of the clubs finances.
Club membership
Club membership ran with 23 teams, 3 teams down from last year, but that was a result of losing two pitches, players came and went throughout the season, but ended up around the same numbers, managers and coaches was also stable.
Disability team
The club continues finally handed everything over to Bristol City community trust where they can run much more efficiently as numbers and demands grow.
Achievements & Support
Nothing to report competing and some teams winning league cups
Events
The summer tournament was not held, although the presentation day was held, we moved the venue from an open field with marquees, to the main landlords site where they can make money out of bar takings and food. Although this doesn’t help the club, it does put profits into the landlord, which in turn helps us
Future Plans
The club intends to continue its current strategies in maintaining its position and reputation within the Bristol community as one of the top 3 clubs with reputation, good ethos and growth. The club will also seek to continue to strengthen its relationship with the Imperial sports ground following a management change to mitigate the risk of its services not being provided in both actual assets and favourable commercial terms.
