Review of Activities and Achievements
Finances
Opening cash on hand of £53348.05, the year was unprecedently hit by COVID-19, impacting revenue by the loss of the summer tournament and income from match day donations. This was further compounded by being unable to recover the loss of the winter training outgoings committed to suppliers during lock down. The club’s inability to support managers and coaches on training courses during COVID-19 did reduce expenditure helping to offset some of the immediate impact of the revenue losses, however this is not a real term saving as the club will need to rectify the FA policy required skills gap of club officials and hold over such monies until restrictions ease and we can commence the necessary training spend. Due to COVID-19 and lockdown expenditure was minimised and not a saving in real term and expenditure is forecasted to exceed in the following 2021-22 season once restrictions and normal club duties return. We still ended on a positive cash flow which was good news for the year considering the challenging circumstances. Forecasted expenditure is high for next season as goal posts and nets need replacing and other equipment needs updating and risk of another season without a, or a poorly attended summer tournament will negatively affect cash flow.
Club membership
Club membership was stable at 26 teams, with players coming and going this was stable as well, managers and coaches was also similar
Disability team
The club continues to lead the way in providing disability football for adults.
Achievements & Support
Nothing to report due to COVID-19 restrictions
Events
The summer tournament and club presentation day were not held due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Future Plans
The club intends to continue its current strategies in maintaining its position and reputation within the Bristol community as one of the top 3 clubs with reputation, good ethos and growth. The club will also seek to continue to strengthen its relationship with the Imperial sports ground following a management change to mitigate the risk of its services not being provided in both actual assets and favourable commercial terms.
