Four member3 of the PCC sat on the Deanwy Synod during the year. The Deanery Synod provides
thè PCC with an imF￿ant link bthwi the p•rish •nd the wider struthres of the Church.

A new sound system was installod (kning the year. to a loop system. It has mad• a hugg
improvement lo th¥ sound qualty •xpenen¢ed by all, both in servK•s and other events.
LEO Pillar lighting vthh a colour changing facilty has been installed.
In December new tables, Grockery, cutlery. and glasses vRre purtha*J for churGh use, allowing up to
100 10 Sit down to o m•81.

The church hall is managed by the St Marfs chu￿ Hall Commrttee on behaw of the PCC. It18 used
ularly by several payino gr￿p$. TV￿ tenants have Con￿nue￿ to ompy much of the first fioor. vrtth

voluntary dOnat￿nS, and a fvrther £18.289 was from income tax recovery on Gfft AKJ. this does not
include the tax claim for the Ilnal quarter of 2022. 1$ y¢1 to ￿ submrtted. Our membership of the
Parish Giving S¢hem¢ has improved the collection of tax fepayments and, followng the stewardship
campaign in the final qLHrter of the year, we have seen an enharKed level of donations. Electronic
giving PayPal and via the card reader in church conb"nue5 10 inc¥ease.
We have re￿Ved legac￿ totaling £30,538 dunng the year arKI a grant of £10.000 from the Friends
of St Mary's tthvards the cost crf Ihe new sound system.
The freohobj house at 3 Red￿￿ Cl¢)se, RosS-on-￿e is c¢cly￿d by our curate Revd Tiffany
Jackson.
Our regul8rfvndral8lng actsvths have continued to be successful. induding the Flo1￿ Festival, vthlch
raised £5,954 and the ICKI Club remains a $uccessfvl sc¥Jrce of incc¥ne.
Nel movement in funds on unrestsicted funds was a surplus of £6.003 and there was an increase in
designated funds of £30,260 and of restricted funds of £10.629.
Rasarves policy
It 1$ PCC polscy to try to maintain a balance on free reserves {net ¢urrent assets) at a18v81 which ensures
the continued operntr.on of the church and ￿lIding. In time we anti¢ipats that a necessary reserve of
approximately six months unrestricted payments will need to be maintsined. This ¥•￿Uld be equivalent
to £85.000. It would be held to smooth out fiu¢tuab"on$ in cash llow and to meet emergencies and the
PCC *ill decide the postbon taking into a￿￿￿t the annual defi¢rt wkni¢h we may be fac*d.
11 is our policy to invest the short-temi invesbment fvr)d balances with the CCLA Chur¢h of England
Deposit Fund. and the remamder in the CCLA Church of England Investment Fuftd. Ttte investments
are Sho4￿ a$ valued as at 31 D￿rnber 2022 and during the year the value has reduced by £3,481.
The investment policy of the PCC has remained unthanged during the year.

operates under the P8ro¢hlal Church Council Pth￿rs Measure. The PCC is 8 RegISte￿d Charty.
The method of appOint￿￿nt of PCC members is set (Art in the Church Representation Rules. At St
Mary's the membership of the PCC consists of the Incumbent {our Rector), ti￿n$ed Clergy, ift¢luding
House for Duty Priests, Churchwardens. the Readers, and members elected by those members of the
¢(￿gregatIOn who are C￿ the Electornl Roll of the church. All those tho attend our servicesl members
of the con9regatKsn are encourageil lo register on the Etertoral Rdl and stsnd for election to the PCC.
The PCC membtrrs are resportsible for maknng decis￿5 on all matters of general concern and
Importan￿ to the parish. including de¢iding on howthe funds of the PCC are lo be spent. The full PCC
