History• Objertlves and Artlvities of Help the People Trust
The Trustees of the Help the People Trust submit their report and financial statements for the year
ended 31 May 2024. Help the People Trust was set up on the 6, Day of March 2015 and amended
on 21 September 2015. Help the People Trust was incorporated as a charity and its name was entered
in the Charity Commission's Central Register on the 28 September 2015.
The Objectives ol Help the People Trust are:
The CharitVs objects are for the benefft of the inhabitants of Bangladesh but not exclusively:
lal The advancement of edutatlon in particular disadvantaged people of all faiths (disadvantaged
by thelr economic or social circumstances) under the aged of Twenty-Five1251 years in the
area of benefrt through the awarding of scholarshlp. accommodation and maintenance
allowances and by supporting the work of educational institution5 Wlth the aim of improving
the quality and availability of thelr education.
Ibl The relief of poverty, the promotion of good health and wellbeing (including the relief of the
sickl, the relief of those in financial need, hardship and distress and the relief of suffering
among impoverished people (impoverished due to their economic circumstancesl in the area
of benefit by providing housing, sanitation, clean water and flnancial assistance.
{cl The relief of those in need in the area of benefit who are virtims of natural or manmade
disaster or catastrophe in particular by the supply of shelter. food and medic81 aid to such
persons.
structure, Governance and Management
The charity is constituted by a Constitution of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation {CIOI with
voting member5 are its Charit¥ Trustee. It is 8overned by the regulation set out in the Constitution
and run by a voluntary Executive Committee. The charit*s committee members are elected at the
Annual General Meeting every two years.
The Executive Committee members are nornially briefed by the Chairman and the General Secretary
to familiarise themselves wlth the njles. regulatlons and respons1billt￿es of thè charlty. The
Management Committee met six times during the year to review the activities of the charity including
the approval of the annual report and accounts as well as budgets. capital expenditure and to set out
the fund-raising date for the charity.
The day-to-day work of the tharity Is overseen by Ihe Chalrman who is responslble to and reports to
the Management Committee. The Executive Committee is aware of the potential risks to the charity,
both financial and otherwise. Therefore. strategies are in place to control these rlsks. Assessments
have also been taken relating to fi￿ and health and safety.
The Executive Committee are seriousty considering other risk areas such as operational, governance
and compliance with law and regulations.
A 501icitor, who 5pecialises in Charities, law has been consulted about necessary polKies. He advised
about it. Policies on Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Loyalty were discussed in trustees. rneeting
and special care is being taken to observe these rules.

Achlevements and Performance of Help the People Trust:
The Executive Committee is pleased to report a very active year. Help the People Trust is actwely
seeking to protect its financial security to continue to safeguard the ongoing development of the
Trust and its projects and services that it offers to the deprived communities in Bangladesh.

Provided financial assistance to the widows.
Provided flnanclal assistance and medicines to the deprived people.
Provided financial sUPPOrt for family maintenance for the poor and widows who were in
desperate need.
Provided support for educational advancement for the poor and needy families.
Provided support to rebuild the houses for the homeless people.
8Lsild social housing for homeless and flood affetted people.
The Management Committee is indebted to all well-wishers for their support to Help the People
Trust. The Executive Committee is very appreciative to the patrons for their financial support. We
would also extend a word of thanks to all individuals and other commtjnity groupslorganisations who
have worked with and supported Help the People Trust.
Flnancial Review
The finanaal position of the Charity is portrayed in the accompènyin8Annual Accounts.
Statement of Trustee< Responslbilhies- Law appllcable to charitles In England & Wales requires
the Trustees to prepare a financial statement for each financlal year. which Bives a true and fair view
of the charirfs financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year.
In preparing those financial statements. the trustees are required to:

Ibl Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent:
Ic) State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have
been followed, subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;
Idl Prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume
that the charity will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keepin8 accounting records. which discloses with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial
statements comply with the charity art 1993. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of
the charity and hence for taking reasonable Steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other
Irregularit￿$.

Reserve Pollcy
It is the policy of the charity that unrestrlcted funds, which have not been designated for a specific
use, should maintained at a level equivalent to at least 12 months. expenditure. The Executive
Committee conslder that reserye5 at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop In
fundin& they will be able to continue the charivs current activities while consideration is gNen to
ways in which additional funds may be raised. Help the People Trust will actively work to athieve this
level of reserves.
Risk Fartors
The Trustee5 have assessed the major risks to whsch the charity is exposed and are satisfied that
systems are in place to mstigate exposure to the major risks.
Independent Examlner
As per the provislons of the Charities Art 1993, the Twstees agree that an audit is not required for
thi5 financial year- however due to the provisions of the same act an Independent Examiner is
required.
The Executive Committee agreed to re-appoint Mohammed Muhlt Uddin M Com. ACA, FCCA of Muhit
& Co, to carry out the Independent Examination of the accounts in 2024.

Basis of Inde
ndent Examinerfs statement
Our examination was carried out in accordance wlth General Directions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and
comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It a150 include5 consideratlon of any
unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning
any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required
in an audit, and consequentty we do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basls of Accounting:
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention in
atcordance wlth applicable accounting standards.
Donati(ms:
This represents don*ion received from the following individua15 and organisation as a nature
of unrestricted fund. Donations are taken to Income and Expenditure account on a receipt
basis. There were no donations received during the year. Trust has used their carry forward
fund to continue the charitable work for this year.
Reserve Funds
The reserve funds are for the use of contlnuous charltable support and for the operational
expenses of the Charity.
