The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities- Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charits'es preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 20191. OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Oblectlves and aims For clarity, Friends of Avanti House will be referred to as FOAH and Avanti House Primary School will be referred to as AHPS. FOAH aims to enhance the education and primary school experience of pupils studylng al AHPS and strengthening the school community by providing support and resource5 to the school through fvndraising, community and cultural events. FOAH creates opportunits'es for children to socialise and interact amongst their peer groups in a safe surrounding. FOAH also fosters an inclusive environment by encouraging volunteers to participate across various events and also creating opportunities for parents to build stronger bonds with their children as they're able to showcase their talent. FOAH also engages with the local community and businesses to help them raise brand awareness and promote their businesse5 wilh the school community through sponsorship and physical presence across various events. Volunteering is optional and the roles & responsibilities could include but not limited to.. Checking inlout at the Entrance Supervision Serving foodldrinks Cleaning -Taking payments All volunteers are provided with the Volunteer Disclaimer along with the Privacy Policy, to which they must agree with in order to be an active volunteer. ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE Fundraislng activities FOAH works hand-in-hand with AHPS and the fundraising objectives a5 provided by the school were to.. Build a new playground Create a Media Room Enhance the Forest Area Through our fundraising efforts, in 2024, FOAH was able to create a larger play area for the school be expanding the fenced boundary and within th8 new play area, deliver a new set of play equipment through DBD Play. Future Plans for FOAH include raising funds for the Media Room and to enhance the Forest Area. STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Governing document The charity is ¢ontrolled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constitutes a limited company, limited by guarantee, as defined by the Companies Act 2006. Recruitment and appointment of new Irustees FOAH is governèd by a voluntary Board of Trustees. Trustees are selected as per the process set out in the constitulion. Responstbilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees of the Company (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 ('the 2006 Act,). Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of your charity's accounts as carried out under Section 145 of Ihe Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act,). In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145{5) (b) of the 2011 Act. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in Ihe UK and Republi¢ of Ireland {FRS 1021 {effective l January 20191,, Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convenlion. Income All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement lo the funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably. Expendlture Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligalion committing the charity to that expenditure. it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been cla5sffied under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consislent with the use of resources. Taxatlon The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities. Fund accounting Unrestricted funds can be used in accordan￿ with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restricted funds can only be used for particular reslricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.
