## **REGISTERED CHARITY NUMBER: 1163611** ## ## **The Bobby Colleran Trust** ## **Trustees Report** The trustees present the annual report together with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30 June 2022. ## _**Objectives and activities**_ ## _**Public Benefit**_ Road safety awareness, supporting Bereaved children and families, Together we can make a difference. The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and Wales. ## _**Financial Review**_ In the year ending 30 June 2022 the charity had a surplus amounting to £13,731.99 plus last year’s carry forward of £30,753.93 which totals £44,485.92. This year has been a great achievement and milestone for our charity, we have started work to open Bobbys Base. Which will not only provide premises for the charity but will be a community hub where we will continue providing bereavement support to children and families and we will introduce mental health workshops and support to the community. The charity is in a good position with sufficient cash to be able to continue as a going concern for the foreseeable future. ## _**Policy on reserves**_ The trustees have considered the level of reserves which they wish to retain. They want to ensure that the charity continues to help those in need for the foreseeable future. ## _**Structure, governance and management**_ The Bobby Colleran Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered on 21 September 2015 and its registered charity number is 1163611. The charity was established for Road safety awareness and to support bereaved children and families. The charity’s principle office is situated in England and Wales If the CIO is wound up, the members of the CIO have no liability to contribute to its assets and no personal responsibility for settling its debts and liabilities. **2 |** P a g e ## **The Bobby Colleran Trust** ## **Trustees Report** ## _**Recruitment and appointment of trustees**_ The Charity’s Trustees were selected from friends and family of Bobby Colleran who had empathy for helping others and a passion to make a difference within our community. However the selection of these trustees ensured that they had the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to ensure effective administration of the organisation. The trustees who served during the year were as follows: Joanne Colleran Joan Brennan (resigned during year) Ann McKenna Roisin Asije-Rooney Amanda Colleran James Blennahasset There must be at least three charity trustees. If the number falls below this minimum, the remaining trustee or trustees may act only to call a meeting of the charity trustees or appoint a new charity trustee. **3 |** P a g e ## **The Bobby Colleran Trust** ## **Statement of Trustees Responsibilities** The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Report and the accounts in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the Trustees to prepare accounts for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that year. In preparing these accounts, the Trustees are required to: - select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; - observe the methods and principles in the Statement of Recommended Practice _Accounting and Reporting by Charities_ , issued in March 2005; - make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; - state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the accounts; and - prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The Trustees are responsible for keeping sufficient accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charitable company and enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Companies Act 2006. I report in respect of my examination of the Bobby Colleran Trust accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## _**Independent examiners statement**_ I have completed my examination.
