Bell Farm Social Hall Trustee Chair Report 2021 - 2022
As ever I would like to thank you all for another year of hard work. As volunteers the pandemic hit us very hard but we have worked hard to come through it, everyone’s hard work once again has produced another great year of working for the community through very hard times, with personal losses and issues of your./our own.
We are still running as a foodbank but our hope to be supported by CYC never came to fruition. We have used grants fundraisers/ donations for most of the food and Holiday Hunger projects we have provided throughout the last year.
Summer 2021 we provided over 1000 holiday hunger bags each containing 3 days of meals and snacks for a family of 4, Christmas 2021 we provided over 1000 Christmas dinners in our Christmas meal parcels including turkeys and all the trimmings. A massive achievement.
Bell Farm Social Hall CIO is still strong and stable. It supports the hall which in turn supports the resident’s and communities of York. We look forward to being a strong force throughout 2022 as we are needed as much now as we were at the peak of the Pandemic.
We have started to open up and rent out the hall, for YVOC, CYC and Community Club including the advice sessions and bingo, we have also allowed the 68 Dancers in to practice with regular fogging taking place to reduce any Covid risks. We still have some restrictions in place including asking that doors and windows are open to allow ventilation as per Govt guidelines. We are still providing masks and sanitiser as needed.
We will try to maximise our rental potential throughout the year as we have for many years.
All trustees stood down and were voted or requested back into the positions they now hold and will hold until our next Trustee AGM meeting; we are still running differently to the way we were pre pandemic but are trying to get back to some kind of normality.
Thank you all for the work you continue to do.
