Bellfarm Social Hall, Roche avenue York YO31 9BB
Trustee Annual report 1st April to 31st March 2021
It has been a very challenging year which has been dominated by Covid 19, our main activities have been running a foodbank with advice and help alongside.while trying to keep the hall & business alive and well.
We have had to reduce our offerings due to many of our trustees being EXV, we have had to run with masks only and hand sanitiser at all times, extra ventilation and careful covid fogging cleaning as an extra to our usual cleaning
We had many posters around to make people aware that although we couldn’t run as was we were still there for them and would support them to make their lives better as we set out in our mission statement and constitution…. To make the lives of the people of Bellfarm and wider York better and to help them do this however they need.
We have been running the foodbank 7 days a week since April and have fed and given advice to many thousands of people, we have also run several holiday hunger provisions on a much wider scale than we ever have before including feeding many families daily and sending out parcels to anyone needing them, we worked closely with our LAC and Council with this.
People have told us we are there when others aren’t so we know we have done a good job at providing what is needed, we have also sadly had a few people who have broken down mentaly who we have helped get the care they need.
We have not been able to stay open as a rental hall this year due to covid restrictions but have had several grants from various applications made including ,,, Coop, JRHT, National Lottery.and Ward funding, We also had a rates rebate from CYC which we have written as a grant as it was based as a covid grant, This has been spent as we always do on our mission to help in anyway possible the residents of Bellfarm and wider York.
Financial accounts have been shared with you all and as you can see we are doing ok for the year but ploughing every penny we can back into the community
We usually run offline but through the Pandemic have changed to online for most of our meetings etc , we also have a FB site which we report everything we do, we have a full committee of trustees but also have some that would like to step up once the pandemic has ended and it is safer to meet.
Thank you for all the work you do as trustees and hope we can get back to normal very soon

Bell Farm Social Hall - Trustee Chair Report 2021 2022
As ever I would like to thank you all for another year of hard work, as volunteers the pandemic hit us very hard but we have worked hard to come through it, everyones hard work once again has produced another great year of working for the community through very hard times, with personal losses and issues of your./our own.
We are still running as a foodbank but our hope to be supported by CYC never came to fruition, we have brought in grants and fundraised for most of the food and Holiday Hunger projects we have provided throughout the last year.
Summer 2021 we provided over 1000 holiday hunger bags each containing 3 days of meals and snacks for a family of 4, Christmas 2021 we provided over 1000 Christmas dinners in our Chrstmas meal parcels including turkeys and all the trimmings.a massive achivement
Bell Farm Social Hall CIO is still strong and stable. It supports the hall which in turn supports the resident’s and communities of York, we look forward to being a strong force throughout 2022 as we are needed as much now as we were at the peak of the Pandemic.
We have started to open up and rent out the hall, for YVOC, CYC and Community Club including the advice sessions and bingo, we have also allowed the 68 Dancers in to practice with regular fogging taking place to reduce any Covid risks, we still have some restrictions in place including asking that doors and windows are open to allow ventilation as per Govt guidelines. We are still providing masks and sanitiser as needed.
We will try to maximise our rental potential throughout the year as we have for many years.
All trustees stood down and were voted or requested back into the positions they now hold and will hold until our next Trustee AGM meeting; we are still running differently to the way we were pre pandemic but are trying to get back some kind of normality.
