## **Chell Heath Residents Association Trustees’ annual report for the year ended 15 January 2023**
The trustees present the annual report together with the financial statements of the CIO for the year ended 15 January 2023.
## **Governance and management**
The charity is a CIO operated under the rules of its constitution adopted 16[th] September 2015 as amended on 6[th] June 2023.
## **Methods adopted for the recruitment and appointment of new trustees**
Trustees are elected annually by the members of the charity.
## **Aims and objectives**
To further or benefit the residents of Chell Heath and the neighbourhood, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race, political views, religious beliefs, or any other differing opinions.
By associating together, the said residents, local authorities, voluntary and other organisations work to advance education and provide facilities in the interest of social welfare, for recreation and leisure time in order to improve the conditions of life for the residents.
To further these objectives the trustees shall have power:
- To establish or secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain, manage or cooperate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the charity.
## **Summary of the main activities undertaken**
We have covered the summer holidays and the cost-of-living crisis with support, food, fun days, and activities. We did a Santa day completely free for our community to attend and handed out essential food hampers to our community to support as many people as possible over the Christmas period. We continue to have close contact with local police and Together for Childhood which is our local team for the NSPCC.
## **Public Benefit**
The Trustees of the Charity are aware of the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and have regard to it in their administration of the Charity.
## **Summary of the main achievements during the period**
We have supported over 500 people across the year with food, cleaning items, hygiene items, a warm space, fun days, information, and signposting to other services.
We bring some funding in via donations but most of our funding comes in from grants that are applied for year-round. Without that much needed support from these grants we would be restricted on what services we can offer.
Our building is open all week and we have phone and home contact with elderly and disabled residents to help prevent isolation.

The results for the year are set out on page 6.
## **The organisation’s policy on reserves**
We do not have or keep reserves all funding is utilised to support our community.

## **Independent examiner’s report to the Trustees of Chell Heath Residents Association for the year ended 15 January 2023**
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the period ended 15 January 2023 which are set out on pages 6 to 8.
## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**
As the charity’s trustees of Chell Heath Residents Association, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Chell Heath Residents Associations’ accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
- accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
- the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
