Para 1.17 and 1.19 |
• Alongside our partners at Women’s Public Union Erayim in the Kyrgyz Republic, we ran a professional development course for 37 teachers of English in Kadamjai in March 2025, enabled by funds and two volunteers from Erayim Aid Trust UK, while also using the services of three Kyrgyz trainers who had previously worked with us successfully. • Our work at the Buchur Center in Bishkek continues to flourish, thanks to a continuing grant from the Swiss Fondation de Mire-Mont. 112 girls and 62 boys in Bishkek attended extra- curricular English sessions every week. In addition, ICT classes in Bishkek and Karakol catered for 119 girls and 86 boys. All these lessons were taught by local teachers outside their basic school hours. We were also able to install a large wall monitor to assist the delivery of ICT lessons in Karakol. Our two ICT teachers ran free training sessions and individual consultations for 56 of the wider community of teachers in their schools,on a |
| voluntary unpaid basis during their holidays. Furthermore, our own teachers have benefited from professional development courses offered by the Ministry of Education. • We ran two series of dental hygiene and nutritional interactive workshops given by specialists jointly for 58 girls and 17 boys. • Our work continues, despite the increased bureaucracy and suspicion with which foreign NGOs are viewed in the Kyrgyz Republic. We have done much administrative and legal work to comply with the stringent new requirements of the Ministries of Justice and Education appertaining to Non-Governmental Organisations funded byforeign countries. |

| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | With the professional development course for 37 teachers of English, both their standard of English and their enthusiasm for teaching was increased as teachers became familiar with new teaching methodology. This enthusiasm and pedagogical expertise will improve the experience of thousands of children in their lessons in the future. At the Buchur Center, hundreds of children of secondary school age from two deprived areas directly benefit from extra-curricular English and ICT lessons, which considerably enhance their future career prospects. The profile of both types of educational activity continues to rise within the Kyrgyz Republic. Our team won first prize in a nation-wide competition for their autonomous horticultural watering project, part of their work on the application of robotics. This and other successes causes increasing interest from local and national media and other educational establishments. |
