people of the Kyrgyz Republic by the provision
of English language classes, facilities and
equipment for education
2) The development of the capacity and skills
of the members of socially and economically
disadvantaged communities in the Kyrgyz
Republic in such a way that they are better
able to identify and help meet their needs and
toparticipate more fullyin society
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
Alongside our partners at Women’s Public
Union Erayim in the Kyrgyz Republic, we ran a
professional development course for 35
teachers of English in Talas in June 2024,
enabled by funds and three volunteers from
Erayim Aid Trust UK, while also inducting
three Kyrgyz trainers.
Our work at the Buchur Center in Bishkek
continues to flourish and expand, thanks to a
continuing grant from the Swiss Fondation de
Mire-Mont. 300 disadvantaged children, the
majority girls, attended up to six free sessions
every week, being taught English and ICT by
three full-time local teachers outside their
basic school hours. In addition, our staff
offered their IT expertise to school colleagues.
Our work continues to expand, despite the
increased bureaucracy and suspicion with
which foreign NGOs are viewed in the Kyrgyz
Republic.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 The Trustees have had due regard to the
Commission’s public benefit guidance when
exercising any powers or duties. They believe
that they adhere to this guidance through the

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,

charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a

Para 1.20 With the professional development course
for 35 teachers of English, both their
standard of English and their enthusiasm
for teaching was increased as teachers
became familiar with new teaching
methodology. This enthusiasm and
pedagogical expertise will improve the
experience of thousands of children in their
lessons in the future.
At the Buchur Center, 300 children of
secondary school age from two deprived
areas directly benefit from extra-curricular
English and ICT lessons, which
considerably enhance their future career
prospects.
The profile of both types of educational
activity continues to rise within the Kyrgyz
Republic, especially as the children take
part successfully in local competitions,
increasing interest from local and national
media and other educational
establishments.
