|1.|**Present:**Christopher Has�ngs (CH), Hilary Marshall (HM), Tim Wardrop (TW). Apologies from<br>Mark Shopland and Neil Wilson.|
|2.|The Mee�ng was called to review and comment upon the Club’s ac�vi�es in the year since<br>the last mee�ng prior to the previous annual report and accounts submission (September<br>2024), and to prepare the annual report for submission to the Charity Commission by 30th<br>April 2026.|
|3.|**Review of ac�vi�es since October 2024**<br><br>The Trustees agreed to provide a review since the previous annual report and accounts<br>submission in October 2024.<br><br>The Trustees expressed their apprecia�on to club members hard work maintaining<br>progress and momentum of the club.<br><br>New oars have been acquired as requested by club members. It was noted that impor�ng<br>tarifs will impact future oar purchases with an�cipated cost increases due to global<br>markets.<br><br>The Diner Dance and awards evening on 1 February 2025 was a great event and was well<br>a�ended. The Trustees expressed thanks to Chris�ne for leading the event organisa�on.<br><br>The Roadford Races series were very well a�ended by the club, with good results and<br>valuable experience, par�cularly for new rowers, novice coxes, and prepara�ons for<br>rega�as and the Isles of Scillies World Pilot Gig Championships.<br><br>The Club achieved improved results at the Isles of Scilly World Pilot Championships 2025.<br>Ladies A came 61stout of 126, making the podium and winning Group F in their fnal race.<br>Ladies Supervets came 32ndout of 45. Mens Masters made it to the fnal coming 12thin<br>the long race and 12thin the fnal out of 21. Mens Supervets fnished 14thout of 26, which<br>was a 4 place improvement. Mens A fnished 82ndof 131 and Mens B fnished 98thof 131.<br><br>The Clevedon Rega�a on 11 October 2025 was very well a�ended by local clubs and a<br>received high praise for being a well organised and well run event, despite some<br>challenging River Severn condi�ons.<br><br>Several Learn-To-Row cohorts have taken place providing, encouraging and developing<br>par�cipa�on and the club has had many new club members join. The club has seen<br>advancement in members abili�es and there is great enthusiasm for rowing.<br><br>The club has had several new cox’s signed-of and other future cox’s are gaining<br>experience.<br><br>The fundraising Spoof Night & Auc�on of Promises 21 November 2025 raised a fantas�c<br>£3300.|
|4.|**Membership**<br>Membership con�nues to be spread across a wide age spectrum and fairly evenly divided<br>between male and female.There has been an encouraging increase in members in younger<br>age groups, par�cularly in their 20’s and 30’s.<br>New members have been well integrated into the club community and represented in Mens<br>A and Ladies A crews.<br>In common with the majority of Gig Rowing Clubs, there is a shortage of Junior Rowers. The<br>club con�nues to engage this age group into the sport through con�nued interac�ons with<br>Clevedon School including regular sessions with school rowers which have taken place prior<br>to the school summer break. We will look to repeat this ini�a�ve when opportunity arises.<br>As discussed with HMRC, Membership fees for 2025/2026 were reduced, whilst members<br>were encouraged to make voluntary contribu�ons towards the cost of our new gig shed,<br>which would beneft from gi� aid. Membership fees will con�nue to be reviewed, with the<br>ambi�on for future lower fees as a result of the permanent base (the gig shed). This in line<br>with the charitable objec�ves of the club which are topromote community par�cipa�on in|

healthy recrea�on by the provision of facili�es for sea rowing, in par�cular Cornish pilot gigs,<br>for the benefit of the public.<br>5. Commi�ee/Volunteers<br>Trustees expressed their apprecia�on for the commi�ee and volunteers.<br>In previous years individual volunteer co-ordinators were agreed for rega�as, since October<br>2024 for some rega�as pairs of volunteers have been co-ordina�ng rega�as and this<br>approach has been very posi�ve and encouraging new co-ordinators. This buddying up is<br>expected to con�nue going forward and is hoped this will further encourage more volunteers.<br>6. Finance<br>The audited Accounts for the full year to June 2025 show a credit balance of £23,471.80.<br>There was good support from club members for fundraising events that generated a good<br>boost to the club’s income.<br>7. Community<br>The boathouse for gig and equipment storage (‘gig shed’) has planning permission and the<br>35-year lease for the land was signed in March 2026 by HM and TW as trustees of the club<br>and is now awai�ng signature by North Somerset Council. Work is intended to start in the<br>coming months.<br>HM a�ended the St Nicolas Chantry Primary School Summer Fayre 2025 with an oar and<br>rowing machine to engage the community. This provided great interest in rowing and is<br>hoped to be repeated at future events.<br>8. Review 5-year plan<br>Permanent Base . As outlined above (7), progress has been made with planning permission<br>granted and land lease signed by trustees HM and TW.<br>Permanent Usable Slipway.<br>World Championship Rankings . The Club made a great improvement on its performance at<br>the World Pilot Gig Club Championships.<br>School Links / Junior Rowers . See comments in (4), con�nued engagement with Clevedon<br>School.<br>Regular Social Rowing . Regular weekday events have been well supported, including early<br>bird rows, rowing in the Avon Gorge has been enjoyed and there has been an increase in<br>rowing in the river.<br>9. Club Trustees<br>Approaching three years in the role, Carolyn Watson stepped down as trustees at the Club<br>AGM on 6 October 2025. Thanks is extended to Carolyn for the work she has carried out in<br>this role.<br>Tim Wardrop (TW) was elected as trustee at the Club AGM on 6 October 2025.<br>Two trustees, Christopher Has�ngs and Neil Wilson, are approaching the end of their three-<br>year term and applica�ons for replacements will be sought for elec�on at the next Club AGM.<br>10. The Trustees  are in full agreement that Clevedon Pilot Gig Club remains fully commi�ed to<br>the aims and requirements of its Charitable status.<br>11. The Trustees  agreed the next mee�ng will take place in 2026 at a �me to be arranged prior to<br>the deadline for submission.
