In planning the activities for the year, we relied on guidance on public benefit and specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion. For wider public benefit purposes, the Charity in the course of the year has actively engaged in both congregational and community wide activities mostly through that meetings and interaction are geared towards promoting social inclusion and empowering people to live a sustainable Christian life. We do these through, - Weekly, monthly, quarterly worship, prayer meetings and bible studies - Community wide evangelistic outreach and missionary work - Advancement of the Christian religion by promoting knowledge of salvation through - Teaching materials on the World Wide Web - Provision of pastoral care for the congregation, local community and new converts to help them live a sustainable life in their newfound ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** ## **Objectives and activities** Peculiar House Church is committed to enabling and empowering people in the community to serve their purpose through: - Affording the knowledge of God to the community at large through evangelistic work and encouraging people to worship with us and seek eternal life salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ 2 Peculiar House Church Trustees’ Report and Financial Statements 2024 - Congregational community and missionary work including offering practical help, advice and assistance to the homeless, unemployed and others that are less able in the society - Enlightening congregation members and the community at large with the gospel of Jesus Christ through face-to-face evangelism, providing necessary support to new converts to grow and develop in their new found faith through effective pastoral care - Community wide empowerment projects for the benefit of mankind in the wider community In carrying out our activities both within and outside our worship centre, we always ensure that we do not compromise the core principles of our statement of faith as set out in our governing constitution ## ACTIVITIES THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC: - (I) The advancement of the Christian faith in accordance with the statement of beliefs in such ways as the trustees deem fit. - **(II)** PECULIAR HOUSE CHURCH Trustees Annual Report Classification What • General charitable purposes • Religious activities • Accommodation / Housing Who How • The general public / Mankind - Children / Young people • Providing advocacy / Advice / Information • Provides services and other charity activities - **(III)** To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ across the nations through effective face to face evangelism, use of the media including the internet, radio and television and publication of materials or other literatures for the promoting and spreading of the gospel - **(IV)** To build a godly community through identifying people’s social and spiritual needs and facilitating ways to meet those needs 3 Peculiar House Church Trustees’ Report and Financial Statements 2024 - **(V)** To co-operate with other churches or similar bodies for the relief of poverty and for other charitable purposes that are for the benefit of mankind. - **(VI)** To relief poverty - **(VII)** To advance education for the benefit of disadvantaged children ## ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE. We regularly organise a charity event where free bag of food is disbursed to needy in our wider community every last Saturday of the month. Other events include; POWERIN THEBLOOD This was a church organised activity; this is an annual inter-denominational programme held in April 2024 and organised for the spiritual benefit of the church members and wider community with a view to strengthen our faith and belief in the finished work of Christ on the cross. ABLAZE-ON FIRE FOR GOD This is a singles programme organised by the church for the singles in the church and the wider community. This was for the purpose of enabling the unmarried in the church and the wider community to appreciate their strengths and talents more in the direction of using them to fulfil God’s purpose for their lives. OPEN HEAVENS This is organised programme for the church and the wider community with a view to enable a stronger faith and believe in our relationship with God. WORSHIP EVENING This is a church organised praise and worship programme for the church and the entire community. It is to basically enable Christian worshippers to gather together and offer true praise and worship to God. ELEVATED This is an annual church anniversary celebration programme organised by the church for the church and the wider community. It is intended to reach out to the church and the wider community with a view to strengthen our faith and believe in God and to celebrate the extent to which we have existed as a charity meeting her goals and objectives. 4 Peculiar House Church Trustees’ Report and Financial Statements 2024 ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 MARCH 2025 (Cont)** JAMAICA DAY This is an annual church programme organised by the church to celebrate the independence of Jamaica with a view to spread the love of God to all nations represented in the wider community. PURPOSEFUL WOMEN This is a church/charity programme organised by the church to benefit more of the women in the church and the wider community. This is with a view to impact and empower women in general to be able to take their place and lead by Godly principles in various facets of life ## POWEREDBY GRACE This is church/Charity programme organised by the church to benefit the entire church and the wider community. This is with a view to enable the church and wider community appreciate the love and grace of God towards mankind. COUPLES NIGHT This is an annual church/charity programme organised by the church to benefit couples in the church and the wider community. This is with a view to help couples appreciate and strengthen the bonds of their relationship with guiding principles from the word of God. Thereby building a long-lasting relationship/marriage that impacts the home and the wider community positively. WORSHIP EVENING2 This is a church organised praise and worship programme for the church and the entire community. It is to basically enable Christian worshippers to gather together and offer true praise and worship to God. OIL OF GLADNESS This is a church organised programme for the church and the entire community marking the beginning of the new year. It is to basically to enable Christian worshippers strengthen their faith and belief in God as they look forward into the new year. OPERATION JABEZ This is church/Charity programme organised by the church to benefit the entire church and the wider community. This is with a view to enable the church and wider community strengthen their prayer life and believe more in prayer 5 Peculiar House Church Trustees’ Report and Financial Statements 2024 ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT** ## **FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 MARCH 2025** The trustees present their annual report together with the unaudited financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30[th] March 2024. The Trustees confirm that the Annual Report and financial statements of the charity comply with the current statutory requirements, the requirements of the Charity’s governing document and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) “Accounting and Reporting by Charities” issued in March 2005. ## **REVIEW OF FINANCIAL POSITION** The financial statements covered the operation of Peculiar House Church, and it has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the 2005 Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) For the year ended 30th March 2025, the financial activities show total incoming resources of £49,494 (2024-54,612) which is the total tithes and offering donations received from members. This was disbursed mainly on charitable activities and total expenditure amounted to £45,580 (2024£41,141. We closed the year with a net profit of £3,914. ## **STATEMENT OF TRUSTEE’S RESPONSIBILITIES** The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustee’s report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law. Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required to: - Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. - Observe the methods and principle in the Charity SORP; 6 Peculiar House Church Trustees’ Report and Financial Statements 2024 - Make judgments and estimates that are reasonable and prudent. - Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity, hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 MARCH 2025** This report was approved by the Trustees on 11 January 2026 and signed on their behalf, by: T. ABUWA Michael Thunde Trustee Trustee Peculiar House Church Trustees’ Report and Financial Statements 2024 7 **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT OF THE PERCULIAR HOUSE CHURCH** We report on the financial statements for the year ended 30, MARCH 2025 which are set out in pages 7 to 9. This report is made solely to the Charity’s Trustees, as a body. ## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner** As explained more fully in the Trustees’ responsibilities statement, the Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements. The charity’s trustee consider that an audit is not required for this financial statement (under section43 (2) of the Charity Commission (under section 43(7) (b) of the Act), and to state whether matters have come to our attention. ## **Basis of Independent examiner’s report** Our examination was carried out in accordance with Charity SORP. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters.
