## **Trustees’ Annual Report 2021 to 2022 - 7th Financial Year**

## **Meeting on Friday 27th January 2023 for The Power Foundation for Young People**

## **Attendees: Pauline Power, Christopher Lee Power**

## **Welcome to Annual General Meeting**

During the last year we planned, auditioned and rehearsed the new ‘Finding Lever -Sunlight of Congo’ play, but unfortunately the production had to be postponed the night before the opening in April 2022. However we went on to perform the play on 19th January 2023, with a multicultural cast and audience.

The new play ‘Finding Lever - Sunlight of Congo’ was well received with a standing ovation from the audience. The Foundation was able to do a profit share for the nine actors of £125 each, and for many it was their first acting credit.

The foundation worked with professionals for our production such as Isabelle Ryder who composed a new musical score and the make-up artist Emma Harrison. We also worked with Matt Harrison, a local joiner to build our sets for ‘Finding Lever,’ and the photography for the production by photographer Andrew Abrahamson.

We produced a printed programme which highlighted the cast, funders and the Congolese Society who had provided much inspiration when researching the ‘Finding Lever…’ play.

The charity received funding in 2021/2022 from the Duchy of Lancaster, Wirral Borough Council local councillor ‘together fund’, Arnold Clarke funding.

**We are pleased to confirm that we have met all our aims for 2021, and are still working towards last year's aims.**

## **New Aims for 2023 -**

## **The Foundation is hoping to recruit more trustees**

## **Produce a film teaser**

## **Hoping to plan another a new show e.g. Wuthering Heights**
